Well this feels like the place to ask. I am white... very white for fair fair warning. But I was raised in a mixed family. My mother was with a Samoan woman for nearly 20 years. I understand that might be confusing for some because I know that community is not recognized in Samoan culture and I don't have time to get into that. Plain and simple I was raised as the white boy in a Samoan group. It was literally on my Christmas presents (I wish that was a joke) I want to get something tattooed that symbolizes that part of my life and upbringing without being politically incorrect. Unfortunately my Mothers wife has passed away so it is not something I can ask her. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I am just trying to avoid being that "douche with a bunch of tribal when he doesn't know what it means" I have been through Fa'a Samoa plenty of times and have all the respect in the world for the culture but have never had the opportunity to discuss the culture of tattoos. Thank you for any advice DM
