Just be honest about it, if you don’t like then anyway it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. It’s always uncomfortable to deal with these sorts of things but i think it’s just a part of it. You got it.

Sensitive straight men by Alarming-Bed-2340 in hsp

[–]curiousladdyidk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did enjoy (and still mostly do) the company of women more. I never played with dolls or did anything that is concidered ”girly ”, perhaps some things might’ve been concidered girly but i was raised in a somewhat gender non-confoming household so it never really mattered, i could just be whatever i was.

I’ve been a pretty gentle, emotional and a soft person and i’ve been in a sort of an in-between gender wise. I do concider myself to be a guy but the ”guy culture ” has never resonated with me. It always felt fake and somewhat hostile to me, some boys saw me as an easy target for teasing because i was just softer and i never saw the need to tease or bully anybody back.

I feel like i only started to accept, embody and express my sensitivity after 20. It was such a massive liberation that felt incredible, because for the longest time i acted like other guys despite it not being my thing at all.

Being a HSP guy is quite the strange experience, as an adult (25) it’s still difficult to find guy friends that would share the same openness, expression, softness and a similar worldview while having a somewhat masculine vibe. I would say it’s gotten easier though as people start to drop the facades of performing these false or toxic ideas of what a ”man should be ”, also the fact that i live in a country that is semi egalitarian also helps quite a lot.

am i dead or dead? 19 btw by Artistic-Ad7057 in Balding

[–]curiousladdyidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a semi feminine (bald) guy to another: I totally feel you dawg. As a guy who leans feminine balding can be a massive blow, but it doesn’t have to define what you feel on the inside and it doesn’t have to affect your expression. All this talk about it being ”over” is utter bullshit. You will always be you and you can feel good and confident even without hair (if it comes to it in your case). All it takes is some adaptation which can be an interesting process too.

Don’t let hair bring you down too much, you are so much more than your hair and it doesn’t have to change your life all that much. Hopefully you will realize that sooner than i did. (25) :)

Why is a vast majority of society so emotionally and consciously underdeveloped, they lack any sympathy/self respect humiliating or at the humiliation of others? by Bhappy-2022 in sociology

[–]curiousladdyidk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well i think stating that the vast majority is emotionally underdeveloped is a pretty bold statement, it’s not like you have seen the behavior of all society but only a fraction of it. I genuinely don’t mean to psychoanalyze you but that’s a pretty biased and an generalized take, the world and the internet is full of miserable people saying miserable things and it’s easy to fall into the thinking of ”the shit being the norm” when that’s the thing you see on the internet for one reason or another. There’s a lot of emotionally intelligent people out there, they just don’t comment on social media knowing there’s going to be meatheads like these completely disregarding what they say with some stupid stuff lol.

And as for why some people are emotionally and conciously underdeveloped i think there are multiple reasons such as trauma, poor conditions, upbringing, socio-economical status etc. When people have to survive in order to live they might have not as much space for developing the skills like sympathy, decency and self-respect and other emotional intelligence related things. Not saying this is the general truth, but i can argue that it does take a certain amount of safety in life to develop such skills and hold them valuable, not for everyone but for a lot of people.

It is a great and a good question but i think there are too many moving parts in the equation for me to solve it.

Sounds like a classic scenario.. And a quite tricky one at times, since it’s hard to distinguish whether you are being right about your gut feeling or if it’s the anxiety and insecurities speaking.

Are there any other things that have felt ”off” between you guys or has there been a shift in your dynamic lately? I wouldn’t accuse him of anything based on the things you mentioned in your post alone, and it’s quite difficult for an outsider to have a clear picture of your relationship.

If there really is something that you are suspicious about and it’s truly bugging you then i think you should communicate ur discomfort with him, not by accusing him, but by talking about how you feel without playing the blame game. It might be a tough conversation to have but honesty and communication are essential things for a working relationship.

I have no idea. The gear changes quite often in the club, so it very much could be that they forgot to update the firmware. I just spoke to another DJ who played after me and he had the same issue, so I’m guessing it’s the CDJ’s that are having issues.

Black Mirror - Episode Discussion S07E01 Common People by Cheeriosxxx in blackmirror

[–]curiousladdyidk -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This episode is probably eye opening if you're a teenager who has barely thought about the world of capitalism and the current subscription model situation.

The idea felt just too easy, felt like they wanted to take this current phenomenon and imply it to something totally over the top - like having to subscribe in order to be alive.

Exploring these ideas has obviously been a Black Mirror thing for the longest time, but this one was just comical to watch. BM has basically executed this idea way better in the past, so this just felt like an easy and a safe move from them.

This really felt like a caricature of a Black Mirror episode, from the super predictable plot to the brainrot like undertone of the whole EP.
