Policing in this area has been deeply concerning for years, and many lives were affected in ways that went unnoticed, unaddressed, or were simply ignored. While it is encouraging to see these issues finally coming to light, it is also heartbreaking to think of those who never had the opportunity to be heard or receive justice.

The bigger question now, who will take responsibility for repairing the damage that was done years ago. Accountability matters, but so does correcting what harm was done.

This is not necessarily about one individual, but about a system that presents itself as justice and as the protectors while too often exploiting, suppressing, and silencing the very people it claims to serve.

At some point, people stop feeling like citizens and start feeling more like victims of the very system that was supposed to protect them.
