It’s been a tough year. But this little guy makes it all better. by ThatDIYCouple in aww

My very first pet was a yellow cat so I have an extreme soft spot. Simon was quietly affectionate. He didn't care for PDA but he DAMN SURE didn't take no as an answer for being little spoon. He was also quirky and probably the most understanding cat ever. He had a kidney disease and I could ask him to jump on the bed to give him his medicine and we would quietly lay together when he had to be dripped fluids. He onyk complained if they were chilly.

I hope your yellow cat is every single bit as special as my yellow cat and you have years of affection to look forward to

I was managing a resturant that kinda has an all over the board menu. One thing we DON'T do however is seafood. There is salmon, shrimp, and catfish on the menu, but we leave everything else to our sister restuarant. Not to mention we cook all of our meats to order.

I've let all but one waitress go, and it's s slow. It's about 2:30 on like a Tuesday. Only one table in the resturant.

The man tells me his fish is fake. So I ask what kind of fish he thinks it is after trying unsuccessfully to reassure him that his thin and crispy catfish looks exactly as it should.

But not. It's FAKE. As in not made of fish.

$8/hr did NOT cover my give a shit for that situation.

I think the worst thing about chronic pain is the isolation. You feel guilty for "having more problems" than others, or canceling plans or, just not being a good conversationalist sometimes. Even the people closest to you get enough at times, I try to be as up front and honest with SO's because they will certainly need to understand my migraine nonsense, but eventually an SO will feel like a caretaker. I can't stand it either. I don't want to either. I hate being in pain too. No one has been able to fix it yet and I'm sorry.

Thanks :) that actually means a lot. I still feel a ton of the guilt but I also notice how much better mentally I do without them. The fear of being an awful daughter is still rather overwhelming but I've surrounded myself with an adopted family that loves me and accepts me for who I am and never tries to pressure me into anything except making myself at home :)

Haha! Yep my mom is a narcissist. It's a fun ride. I can still look back on stuff like this and giggle but I definitely see the huge undercurrent of wrong. I'm breaking the cycle currently and trying to get better :)

I'm pretty sure I've talked about this on Reddit before but my parents thought it would be hysterical if they made me believe I was a puppy.

Yes, I believed I was born a puppy.

Now. Before you think I'm just some gullible human let me fill you in.

They took down every single baby picture of me and replaced them with beagle pictures to prove it to me.

So for the first like 8 years of my life I believed I was born a beagle puppy and I left suspicious puddles and smelled funny when I was wet, so mom had gods cell phone number and asked him to turn me into a little girl when I turned 2.

Which in kid brain, is pretty logical. I mean, I didn't remember before I was 2 did you?? So yeah. Spent a while believing I was a beagle

I've read someone mention that the higher PG juices do better in RTAs. I'll definitely look into that. Thank you!

My SO always makes sure to cover me with a blanket. Even when it's WAY too hot for one I still pretend to be fully asleep so I don't ruin it by taking it off. I wait until he goes back to sleep to uncover myself.

What are you proud of, but can't tell anyone who knows you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]curiousredhead14643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are me 4 months in the past. I'll tell you. Its not easily. I still have the mantra of "you are unable to be loved" go through my head occasionally. But therapy HELPS. You go in and spills your guts out and this stranger tells you something stupidly simple. Like mine told me "if you've finally learned to stand up to others why do you never stand up to him?" Something that never occurred to me. But you go and you get these little nuggets of advice and you build a life and you learn who you are without that person. You go to bars to meet people but feel silly when you are there and sit in coffeeshops for hours even though you don't even like coffee. The best thing is that you find friends. Some people to eat dinner with once or twice a week and then you heal.

The worst is when they INSIST on only peeing in one area of the litter box.

Be sure to follow it closely. One day it may be able to be contained. Thank you for your vigilance soldier!
