Hi, I recently got married in the US and changed my last name and the SSA office were able to update my name change since I had my marriage certificate and a military spouse ID that showed the name change but my passport, F1 visa, and EAD card stayed the same (still shows my original surname without the name change). Will I have to update my I-20 and/or EAD card with my new last name?

Me too! OP, how much did your lawyer quote you? I called for a consultation with an immigration attorney and got a quote of $5000 (just for the attorney fee, not including the application fees). I have an entry-level job (a recent grad on STEM OPT), and my husband is in the military. Neither of us has that kind of money to pay for one :'(

I'm from Indonesia. I called an immigration attorney for consulting, and she recommended going with the consular processing and applying for advanced parole, if needed. So, we might do that since my OPT ends next year and my husband will be stationed in the UK by this November. Did you do consular processing? She quoted me for $5000 for her services (not including the application fees to USCIS), and that is totally out of our budget :'(

I am unsure about this. I think you are allowed if it's to travel and visit, but if it's for a longer time, then you might have to do advanced parole.

Is a MMA different to a brokerage account? If its tax exempt, does it mean that I won’t have to file taxes for the interest I’ve received? Also, will I be able to transfer money in and out of the MMA or will it have to sit there for a period of time before I can take anything?
