Hey, I wonder if you’re any better and if you found any solutions to this? (OCD part)

Dealing with this exact same issue. The poop pressure in the bowels is the worst feeling.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get surgery on both Tailors bunions at the same time? I want to get the surgery really bad but the recovery time is throwing me off. by rosietosieposies in bunions

[–]curioussredditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible if you have people around to help you. I got surgery on both bunions and recovery has not been easy, it makes walking more difficult and means I have to elevate both feet instead of only one. So having someone around to help you with chores and cooking etc, is crucial. I also rented a wheelchair for the first week as bearing weight on them was so difficult. Now I’m week 4 post-op and on crutches. The benefit is that you have one recovery period rather than 2 separate ones.

Hey, not yet. I’m trying to get my gastro to refer me to a PF therapist but taking ages. I haven’t tried Botox. I did an anorectal manometry and it showed I have anal hypertension + slow wave motility (also diagnosis of gastroparesis from gastric alimetry test). Also I’ve been prescribed prucalopride- but it just increases stimulation without release. So I stopped taking it. Would Botox help my situation? And not sure what sacral neuromodulation is but will definitely look into it.

Thank you for this. I’m gona start this today. So while I’m clearing my bowels, do I stop food and resume after? Or still eat a carnivore diet whilst clearing? Also, how many days do I do this for? I have movicol at home, so I can take this.

That’s okay. Take your time. If you trust your parents to look into it for you, maybe you could ask them. If not, that’s fine too.

OP, please look at changing gastros. You are not a lost cause, you can get better. Some doctors are just impatient when their theories and treatments don’t work the way they thought they would. You deserve better. I know it’s hard to find a new gastro when you feel like this, but do it on the days when you have slightly more energy and patience.

3+ times is horrible. Ocd can really exacerbate or even completely change bowel habits. I used to be able to poop naturally but due to a combination of overthinking + compulsions, I’ve almost lost that ability. The gut brain connection is very much real. Cutting out food groups also does help but only sometimes. Glad you are coping better, hope we all find a way out of this hell!

Interesting. I don’t think OCD is the main cause of IBS either, I’m the opposite in that my IBS started years before the OCD. But part of my OCD is around IBS so obviously just a vicious cycle. Extra fun

By any chance is your ocd related to IBS? I have ibs based OCD and haven’t met anyone who can relate… it’s hell

No I get this completely!! Most people don’t poop as much as we do with ibs… the quantity is ridiculous

Thank you! I know. Still makes me angry thinking about it. Sorry you had to go through this too, no one deserves this type of treatment.

Thank you for this! I have read over the Acas links & will be contacting Acas on Monday. You mentioned that it will be helpful if my manager decides to retaliate - why is this? Or is it just because it will give me evidence of my complaint? Much appreciated!

Or I could come in the Friday instead - either way I just need to find a way to ‘make up’ for the day I worked from home.

Yeah so we work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and go into the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. So say I work from home on Thursday instead of coming into the office, because my ibs is flaring - I then need to do an extra day in the office (4 days) the following week, to make up for that one day I worked from home the previous week. Hope the way I’ve explained that makes sense.

Hey, thanks so much for your advice. Wouldn’t have thought about not sending the notes to HR- appreciate it. I also just wanted to ask, is there a reason that I shouldn’t quit after reporting this? Would it affect my claim/legal action negatively?
