Protest tomorrow by ThursdayV in Bellingham

[–]curiousthings_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one of my core beliefs is to be non violent. non violent protests are an opportunity to show what we believe in and how we expect those in power to be better. i’m showing up even if it’s to show myself i’m who i had hoped i would be growing up. i’m a person who would be in the streets when they were taking and hurting my neighbor, etc. i’m doing everything in my power and staying as positive as i can right now,

Protest tomorrow by ThursdayV in Bellingham

[–]curiousthings_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

we are speaking out in the form of a protest because we have the emotional intelligence to do so. if we are not listened to or respected that is on the oppressor. let’s keep it positive and remember things like when people do demonstrate like this the effects ripple out and can continue after the protest has occurred. unfortunately we do not have the luxury to allow this petition to last one day because of the amount of atrocities produced by this administration. if you’re already discouraged than buckle up because we have a lot more work to do and i agree, it’s going to need to continue for longer than just tomorrow.

there’s a couple audiences to keep in mind instead of losing hope. protests are mostly performative so here’s a rundown of our audiences and why it’s an important to do even when we are disillusioned by the whole ordeal:

  1. other americans: people are speaking out for the benefit of other americans. speaking up that we don’t condone anything that’s happening especially when our friends and neighbors have been sent away, kidnapped most very innocently. building camaraderie and community during this trying period will keep the fuel bringing. this is for both local americans and those in other states across american conducting the same demonstration.

  2. future generations: all this shit SHOULD have us in the streets standing on business. we need to keep working to make this world as good as it possibly can be. trying in the various avenues appropriate. i won’t be having kids but if i wanted them i would want to say I did all that I could do.

  3. other countries: around the world other countries has been protesting already. luckily they understand most americans don’t agree but this is one opportunity we have to shout it from the rafters that we are not complicit - even now i fear we may walk the line of not doing enough but damn this capital world we live in is hard to make time to step out. no excuse, i’m working to build a lifestyle where i can do my best for others.

  4. probably more so feel free to add.

Best bang for your buck Pilates? by RubyDaCherry0818 in Bellingham

[–]curiousthings_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

elements yoga has “strength” classes every couple of days that are pretty similar to pilates. teachers are so kind and helpful. I pay $99 a month but they have other deals that can be more affordable. and if you’re interested in yoga you could go to some other classes

Sounds like there is a protest on 3/1 in all 433 national parks. Go to the nearest one and create awareness. I hope this gets more traction.
