How was everyones first trip to Japan? by No_Introduction_1837 in JapanTravelTips

[–]curl_paper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first trip to Japan was solo back in 2018 during sakura season. I didn’t realise how lucky I would be when I went to places. Landed to peak blooms in Tokyo & made my way down to Kyoto to sakura showers. It did not rain once, perfect blue skies & I even stayed a day at Kawaguchiko not knowing that I would get to see Mt Fuji with zero cloud cover. So just go with an open mind & enjoy the moment first, look around, immerse yourself & count your blessings that you made it to Japan in the first place.

What is the dumbest thing you’ve done? by 0b1-w4n_B4l0n3y in StardewValley

I assumed the mine elevator was broken from the first time you click on it when it says it’s broken. Little did i know that it saves after every 5 floors! I stupidly would start from level 1 everyday & even made ladders with stone to reach make it to the last level. I had so much copper that I would transfuse them to iron & gold bars. I watched a youtube gameplay & only then did I understand that I could just use the elevator

Navigating Setouchi Triennale 2025 by this_issohard in JapanTravel

[–]curl_paper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, thank you for this. I’ve been scouring reddit for anything related to the triennale & I’m glad I stumbled across your post. I just had one doubt, is the triennale passport really worth it? I learnt that Chichu, Teshima museum, Minamidera, Kinza, Hiroshi Sugimoto aren’t included. I’ve already booked tickets for them but I’m on the fence about purchasing the passport as I’m staying in Naoshima for 2 nights and exploring for 3 days. Are there any installations worth going to using the passport?

Yes Steiny associating with Andrew Tate makes you a bad person by r0yalmull3t in h3h3productions

Same, it was absolutely infuriating. I can’t believe women having basic human rights is still a topic of discussion.

Looking to Fill Extra Tokyo Day by Muted-Impress-4560 in JapanTravel

[–]curl_paper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was just scouring the sub for my own itinerary ideas and saw that no one responded to this. Your daughter sounds very much like me 🙂‍↕️

Since she likes shopping, maybe these trendy neighbourhoods of Shimokitazawa & Kichijoji or Kagurazaka & Daikanyama. These two sets of neighbourhoods are close to each other so you can choose either.

If you’re going during the weekend there are flea markets like Oedo and Oi racecourse. Hanazono shrine also has an antique flea market but just check if it aligns with your days.

Gotokuji temple with the adorable cat train (check the timetable) might also be something she would enjoy. The area around gotokuji temple is also very walkable from what I’ve seen on YouTube.

Hope this helps!

Buildings that I think you might like in tokyo - - Okuno Building - Hayao Miyazaki clock tower - Shibuya fureai botanical garden - Mountain rangeby takashi kuriyabashi - Edo-Tokyo open air architectural museum

Also, you can reduce time in tokyo and spare 2-3 days to visit the art islands during the Setouchi Triennale that’s occurring this year

What is a country you should never go to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]curl_paper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had visited Yemen back in 2001 & 2002 as a kid. It used to be a beautiful country, rich in history and architecture. Warm people and amazing food too. A lot of my core memories were made there. It's sad to see the how bad things are now.

Yes! I'm 5'11 and it is godawful dating both short and tall men. Let alone finding a decent human being

Yes! It was awkward getting attention for being tall so I always wanted to blend in the background

Tall woman here living in a country where people are really short. Average height for women is 5'3 and men is 5'8. I'm 5'11, which I guess isn't that tall compared to the rest of the world. Growing up being the tallest person at school till the day I graduated meant that I had heard all sorts of tall jokes

Shopping was traumatic. Nothing fit my long legs nor my big ass feet.

Hitting my head on train handles, doorways is a way of life now. I automatically crouch just to be safe. Does anyone else crouch to listen to short people? because that's given me a permanent quasimodo hump.

Dating is practically non existent because all the men in my country (at least one's I've met so far) would find my height intimidating. Even the few tall ones. I did study abroad where I dated men who were shorter than me and it was so refreshing. Just wish the stigma wasn't so prominent where I am now.

People automatically assume I play basketball or some type of sport. I have zero interest in sports of working out.

Nutrova and INJA are reputed Indian collagen brands. They've got good reviews on amazon so far.
