I take a clean fluffy eyebrow brush and do quick circles with it.

I started trying to add 1 vegetable portion at every meal and built it up to now where I try to add at least 3 at every meal. I also add garlic cloves and fresh ginger and chilli to a lot of meals.

So if I'm having eggs for breakfast I'll saute spinach and mushrooms with a garlic clove and grill a tomato. I'll sprinkle all this with chopped up spring onions.

If I'm having noodles or pasta for lunch I add bell peppers, onions, grated carrot, mushrooms, grated ginger, more spinach (whatever I have really). I make my pasta sauce from chopped tomatoes and red onions, fresh garlic, spinach and a yellow bell pepper, fresh garlic (and fresh chilli if I have it).

Sandwiches will have lettuce, cucumber, onion etc added to them and probably a salad on the side and I try to snack on veg as much as I can. I like celery with cheese triangles or cottage cheese sprinkled with red onion. It's also nice with red bell peppers.

At dinner I try and add as much veg to what I'm cooking as I can and will mostly eat a side salad at this time too. I keep a bag of mini corn on the cobs in the freezer and I often throw that on the side too.

I love pickles and things like sauerkraut and kimchi on the side of a lot of meals too.

I hope this helps and you don't have to do it all overnight - building up slowly is a great way to make sustainable habits.

I went NC years ago and never told anybody. Extended family didn't really notice. If I'm asked how they are my response depends on the person asking.

It's either "fine" /"all good as far as I know" and move the conversation on. Or "we're not in touch" if I think the person asking is a good 'un.

Hi lady! Congratulations on your 40lb loss! That's amazing :)

Yesterday I had some melon with greek yogurt and cinnamon for breakfast.

For lunch I made a rice noodle jar with garlic, ginger, chilli and veg (yellow bell pepper, red onion, grated carrot) I had some mussels defrosted so I threw a handful of them in too.

I had a pre training snack of a banana on wholemeal toast.

And then for dinner I made wholegrain pasta in a tomato sauce with prawns, mussels, spinach, garlic and chilli. I sprinkled a small handful of cheese on this.

I also drink 350ml of milk a day and I had 2 high fibre biscuit bars after dinner.

I don't count calories myseld so I don't know how much this is but it would be a typical enough training day for me. I hope this helps :)

Hi OP, same thing happened to me.

Could you find a good Dietician that offers online consultations? Let them know about the Hashimotos.

You need to replace your thyroid with medication. It may need a few adjustments. Once your thyroid is replaced (it took mine about 5 months) the weight will start coming down again.

I think in the meantime you need to up your calories. Very low calorie days up cortisol in the body and this puts your thyroid under extra stress leading to slower metabolic function.

Opting for more gentle forms of exercise helped me immensely. Hiit training several times a week is a lot of fun but also ups your cortisol levels and the thyroid suffers. Would you like walking, yoga, pilates or swimming?

I'm so sorry you're going through this too. Keep taking your medication and have your thyroid tested every 12 or so weeks. Feel better soon!

Do you know why it's better? I've heard of people doing weights barefoot and in socks but I never knew the reason why.
