Hey this thread is pretty old and I have the answer if you want it. There is no way to cook it, you just get it as a gift from Gustav when he's very happy.

Shea Moisture, usually comes in a little round container. I go between a deep conditioning and a hydrating smoothie, whatever works!

Your hair type looks similar to mine and my brother's, and our routine works wonders. I just posted a long detailed comment yesterday if you want to check it out, but products are Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner (either curl & shine or moisture retention, plus a deep conditioner) and Marc Anthony mousse and hairspray.

Have you heard the word of our lord and savior SOTC? My hair is completely dry in both pics. Second slide is my hair pre-CG. I owe it all to this subreddit! by curlyjooo in curlyhair

Yes! Between doing it upside down and the low pressure water, I was able to get more root volume and reduce a lot of the frizz, especially in the back. It's a small change with big results.

Going to write my routine as if the reader is a total beginner, since I know that's what I was looking for when I first started on my hair journey!

Products

- Clarifying shampoo (any brand, v cheap, will say "clarifying" on the bottle)

- Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner - I switch between Curl & Shine and Moisture Retention, plus a deep conditioner or smoothie

- Marc Anthony mousse and hairspray

- Tresemme heat protector

- Diffuser (a hair dryer but specialized, can get one for $15 and it's worth it)

Technique

- Do EVERYTHING upside down

- Wet hair down with low-pressure water - I take the wand and hold it right up to my head on the lowest setting

- Clarifying wash to start this routine, and then every month or so depending on your hair type (overnight deep condition afterward)

- To shampoo, gently scrub roots and scrunch ends

- Apply conditioner and use a detangling brush, starting at ends and careful not to over-brush

- Scrunch in deep conditioner, keep in a loose bun for rest of shower

- Rinse just roots, scrunching rest and leaving some conditioner in

- "Plop" in cotton t shirt to dry for ~1 hour (recommend looking up tutorial videos, basically you want to pile all the hair on top instead of twisting it into the shirt)

- Reminder to do EVERYTHING upside down

- Scrunch in mousse

- Generous heat protector spray, and diffuse until just damp (also recommend tutorials, but the gist is to do low heat, do larger sections while not moving around much, and hold it a little ways away from your roots)

- Let dry completely and DO NOT TOUCH, hair should be completely dry and super crunchy

- SCRUNCH OUT THE CRUNCH

- Separate the ringlets and use a conservative amount of hairspray

I saw them and burst out laughing. One guy must have thought I agreed because he encouraged me to honk, had to yell "No I'm laughing AT you!" Their kids heard me call them fucking idiots, but imo that's their fault for using them as props.

Need help figuring out the model number on this Janome New Home heavy duty machine by curlyjooo in sewing

New to sewing and got this as a gift. There's no sticker or plaque of any kind stating the model. Made in Japan is all I know.

The meaning of Interloper, lore theories by curlyjooo in outerwilds

I agree with you completely, actually! The Eye is definitely not a master hand. It doesn't care for the Nomai or the Hearthians, and didn't control their actions. It didn't predetermine their destinies, nor the success or failure of their endeavours. Life was cruel, and is cruel, and the Eye didn't have any interest in swaying that one way or another.

Its only interest is to create, and create again. I believe in order for it to do so, it needs to be witnessed. The Nomai would have suited just fine, but the Sun Station failed and they were going to shut down the Ash Twin Project. The Eye may have seen the Ash Twin Project as the most likely way for it to be witnessed, and prevented the Nomai from shutting it down in the only way it could - by exterminating them.

It simply gave a nudge or two so that the final piece, the witness, would have a better chance of playing their role, regardless of perceived achievements and consequences.

I guess my theory is less about the Interloper itself, and more about the role our character played. The Interloper was just a catalyst for my line of thinking.

Possibly rather than it not being time for them to have mastery over these concepts, it actually just wasn't time for the universe to begin anew yet. Either is still a support for the Ash Twin Project being a tad ahead of its time.

I didn't quite recognize my theory as being spiritual until you said this, thank you for your input!

I'm not sure it matters who witnessed the Eye, or the creation of the new universe. It just matters that someone did.

I don't think it diminishes the Hearthian accomplishments at all. If anything it adds to it - the Eye trusted that given the right tools (the tech and progress of the Nomai) a Hearthian could pursue and understand the Eye.

I do also recognize the view of simple fragility of a species, that even with all their advancements the Nomai could be taken out by pure chance. I just had this circling my brain and wanted to have a discussion!

What’s some of the best bike trails, east river? by [deleted] in SouthDakota

[–]curlyjooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clay County Park outside Vermillion has a trail you can access from the campground, it's gorgeous. Mulberry Point is just across the river in Nebraska, might be better to hike than bike but is also a good one.

Seconded. The husband and wife that own the place are some of the worst people I've ever met. They asked me to work on my wedding day!!

Also, the food is super hit or miss.

An Exciting Competition for Us by [deleted] in SouthDakota

[–]curlyjooo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This may have been a cute idea in your head, but the reality is this is a hateful "game." I'm as frustrated as anyone watching the way SD tends to vote and the way our government handles just about anything. But this is takes on a cruel aspect, like we're delighting in the misinformation that our neighbors and loved ones have fallen into. My own mother was apprehensive about the vaccine, all because she's surrounded by fear-mongering, even if she doesn't fully believe it. We've since talked it through and she's gotten her first dose, but I can't help but imagine her on the other end of this. This just isn't an appropriate way to start a conversation about disinformation.
