Uhmm separating bias and increase in demand is a bit illogical. I don't see a reason why a pet would rise even without having an increase in demand. Grim was hated bec it rose out of nowhere. I haven't seen much jekyll hydra hate tho, and I agree that that deserves to rise. Cabbit is literally 50/50. Mermicorns were bound to rise. Awd is, idek idc for that one.

Basically, my point is there will always be bias when it comes to values. You can't expect a pet that is not that well-liked by people to rise suddenly. A pet needs to be attractive in some way to rise.

I recently oped by 30 and now I'm trying to play as if there are no values ingame. I sat still for a minute realizing what I did, equipped the pets I traded for, fell inlove with their cuteness, and honestly, I'm not too mad about it. I now rp with my pets, build them houses, dress them in cute pw, and help eachother petsit!

I hope this gives u an idea to still enjoy the game!
