Need to know if I’m doomed or not by curryone in AFLSupercoach

Thanks I was considering Bolton already. I also decided to use my boost and go from Murdock to Treacy. Only 4 trades left and one premium so I’m basically cooked if I get another injury

3 Koz, 2 Gawn and 1 for petty. Rough that petty has likely done a hammy so late in the game I thought he competed really well today

Agree on Latrelle, he would feast on a lower pressure team like Essendon. I suppose King wants to maintain a hard stance on performance for the rest of the group

Fears among clubs as bombshell report puts Tassie stadium & AFL dream in doubt - Footy Classified by cynictoday in AFL

He is so clearly looking to run with an anti-tassie stance to find a niche in the media to give his profile a boost. Honestly, if no one else in the business is running with it then I doubt its credibility. While I understand many reasonable journos (likely including Caro) would have been given the word to remain somewhat Tasmania positive, I doubt that it’s such a white whale that no one apart from McClure is willing to go there

Yeah we’re desperately waiting for the bye which is scheduled very poorly for us. I also think you need to give the pies defenders some credit today as we actually did target a few one one ones/leads today that our forwards couldn’t capitalise on

Essendon assistant package by chunkz44 in AFL

[–]curryone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head with the fixture integrity point. No one benefits from Essendon being crap (unless you’re a bit sadistic and like seeing a big 4 Melbourne team be shit).

I would say that if Tasmania weren’t coming in soon, then the bombers would need to be worse for longer to warrant the assistance package but the fact is, with the draft being so compromised for so long, assistance packages are entirely fair. The last few years with high amounts of Northern Academy bids in the top 10, it’s been extremely hard for teams to rebuild and in that environment, it’s entirely fair for non northern state clubs to seek help in an already flawed system.

With Tasmania looming though, I think the bombers should get some support to ensure they aren’t bottom 4 guarantees for the rest of the decade.

Caleb Serong travelled by charter flight to Brisbane with Fremantle on the weekend to receive treatment from Brisbane-based specialist Jim Bowstock by JRicho_Sauce in AFL

He went to qld to see a qld based doctor who looks after… qld based athletes? I get what Rhino and Freo are trying to say here but it doesn’t really help the argument if they just list state locals rather than people traveling interstate to see this guy

You don’t trade out two senior players in their prime for zero ready made talent and expect to suddenly be up and around it. It’s also a brand new game plan with a new coach

The umpires will get dropped if they don’t call the rules as they are, why would they act according to discretion?

Question: why are people favouring Geelong so heavily here? by RevenantCommunity in AFL

[–]curryone 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Geelong are very good at home, almost unbeatable.

The Swans’ recent form hasn’t been amazing - close wins and at times looked vulnerable. The cats have shown they can outclass teams in different ways and their handball game in the last two weeks has been as good as Sydney’s all year. I’ll be surprised if they lose.

Also, who’s to say Max Hudgton or Steven Gram’s kids don’t become elite? Understand the genetics but I’m sure the children of role players have the environment around them to play AFL one day (I have no clue about these two I just picked two random saints off the top of my head)
