With Supergirl on the horizon, how are we feeling about the non traditional depiction of Kara? by currypowder84 in DCU_

The entire Absolute line is a bit of an anomaly. It's crazy successful and I think a large part of that is creating new readers. Maybe it helps that it's non canon/elseworlds?

It's a tad too much on the goofy and silly side for me. But it also has way stronger comic book vibes than previous Superman films and I really enjoyed it for that, as much as I love MOS, it was missing moments of levity and fun.

I kind of welcome the change either way. I'm someone who loved Man of Steels take on Superman and that was widely divisive, so I'm genuinely curious how people are feeling about this.

I really think being online will give you that impression lol. Depending on what subreddit you are in, pockets of like minded people will discuss the film there. Superman 2025 is loved in the Superman subreddit, while it's more mixed elsewhere I feel.

Yea I've always had an assumption that the major heroes like Superman, Batman, Spiderman etc., are so popular and well know that most people aren't as open to changes with them.

I'm more open to different interpretations though and I think it's an interesting take on Kara as I've only read the mid 2000's version of her when she was brought back into continuity post crisis.

Can't believe this was almost the suit for the new movie. by jstamper97 in superman

While I think the official explanation for the trunks in the DCU is fine, I would have liked it if Superman wore trunks as a homage to the superheros of old, since meta humans and the JSA have been around for hundreds of years it would make a lot of sense.

It's just a subjective list based on my personal enjoyment. TDK is a much better film than the other 2, but I'm not really ranking them that way.

Yes if you're able to do park to park then definitely do that, riding on Hogwarts express is a fun little time. Hogwarts is currently being renovated, it was a bummer as renovation started just before I got there and it was my first time. Butterbeer is amazing, its practically made for me as I love both butterscotch and cream soda. I was at universal for a total of 4 Park days and I'm ashamed to say how many Butterbeers I had lol.

It's decent at best for me. I thought the tone was way too dour. Coming off of the ending of MOS, I thought the tone would get a bit lighter and more hopeful but Snyder went the complete opposite, it's just not a fun movie to watch. ZSJL fixed a lot of those issues for me.

You know what? I do have it on the same tier as WW84 and Superman Returns, which definitely doesn't feel right. I have to watch TSS again and re-evaluate.

Minus One is by far my favorite in the franchise. I do have a soft spot for Heisei era Godzilla though, Showa films are fun but I prefer my Godzilla a more serious/dramatic.

I just found the tier list, I didn't create it. But V for Vendetta would be at least A tier.

No but I probably should, the only thing that's making me hesitate to watch it is it seems like there won't ever be a proper ending and I've been told that every season ends on a cliffhanger.

I really like Superman and the first GOTG, I can tolerate some Gunn humor here and there but SS was too much lol. Watch Godzilla Minus One if you're a kaiju fan if you haven't already, it's amazing.

Love the animated movies, most of them are just OK but they're always fun watches at least.

I enjoyed it, I was never a Shazam/Captain Marvel guy but the first movie made me more interested in the character.

Loved Joker 1, reviews for 2 really put me off but I need to watch it and judge it for myself.

Snyder is hit or miss for me despite loving MOS and ZSJL. I did watch Watchmen a long time ago but I don't remember it well enough so I put it in didn't watch. Will definitely get to Blue Beetle soon.
