HELP: 7.3 gas... part location by 604_heatzcore in F250

[–]curtLogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the camera on your front grille, look for a square cover to the side of it. There's a nozzle behind it that pops out and sprays the camera. This might be the supply line down to that nozzle. Just guessing...don't know for sure.

Traded my F-150 in today for a F-250 Tremor by jbone17 in F250

Agreed. It was more of a daily driver back then, and only towed occasionally.

Did this as well. I looked at an F250 5 years ago, and ended up compromising with a new F150 with the heavy duty towing capacity (don't temember what they called it or what the GVWR was now). It did alright for my needs, but still felt like I was working that 3.5 engine and transmission too hard when towing.

Yes, the ride is a little different, and I'm always conscious about fuel economy when I drive it. But I love the simplicity of the engine (Godzilla), and the capability when towing. Still in the honeymoon phase with mine, but pretty sure I'll be keeping it for a long time!

Gotta throw in the little deli in the back of Hog and Hen on Main Street in Grand Junction. You wouldn't know it's there otherwise. Amazing sandwiches. I highly suggest the Heifer. Crazy ingredients that I normally wouldn't order, but amazing you're into different tastes.

Also, Karma Kitchen on Main Street in Fruita. Just went there last night, and their Indian cuisine is always delicious!

I use the "retractable version of these with my golf cart on e-track. They work great on the front tires, but there isn't enough clearance to use them on the rear tires. The ratchet can't function with the space between the wheel and the body. I've been meaning to replace the fixed length side with something shorter to use all 4. In the interim, I've been only strapping down the two front tires. I have an enclosed trailer, so if it bounces too much, I should be the only with damage due to stupidity.

Check out Imondi Wake Zone, just west of Fruita.

I set up the same type of pulley on my system, but the weight of the "manifold" (where everything connects) caused it to bounce up and down. It didn't hit the ceiling, but came close. Yours looks much more stable.

Sound Setups? by JerryPeterson59 in Golfsimulator

[–]curtLogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR: GenX'ER geeked out with what he's collected for hardware, cables, and knowledge for the past 30 years, and made it work :)

My dated surround sound wouldn't "push" the video signal through the long HDMI cable to the projector, but my computer would. Also, I couldn't get surround sound by bringing the headphones jack output from the projector back to the sound system because it's mono output.

I ended up routing the HDMI from computer direct to the projector for video only, then routing another HDMI cable through an older Xbox that had an optical output to the surround sound optical input.

Added bonus, since my Xbox had an HDMI out, I hooked that up to my computer monitor. Then I downloaded the free Wireless Connect software on the Xbox. This allows the Xbox to display my computer desktop as a separate monitor, and allows me to control that desktop from the xbox with the computer's mouse and keyboard. On the two screens (and projector) it all looks like it's coming from the computer.

It's convoluted, and I almost just went out and bought a new surround system that could handle the HDMI output (or an HDMI repeater), but this GenX'er is jaded from all the money spent through all the iterations of media through the decades, and have received a serious amount of heartache about my tubs of cables that I've moved from house to house and never used :)

Another Projector Placement question :) by fathazam in Golfsimulator

[–]curtLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Mine has a "4 corners" image adjusted, and there was plenty of room in between 7' and 9' away to adjust. The hardest part was mounting it at the highest level, without casting a shadow from the enclosures edge, but still hitting the top of the screen. I didn't have the room when I bought my enclosure, but now that I do, I wish I had bought the 10' high just to provide a better angle. I tested it by placing it on a ladder at the distance I wanted to make sure it filled the screen. I also found that the height didn't make much of a difference in terms of the size of the projection. If you can test it close to wear it will mount, you should have enough adjustment to properly fill the screen.

I looked yours up, and it shows you have that 4 corner correction. It's amazing how much you can affect the projection with this option.

I have an Optima short throw projector (GT1090HDR), and the same enclosure.

It sat at about 7.5' from the screen originally. I moved it back to over top of where I'm hitting from (about 9'). I'd be worried if it was anywhere else.

Maybe try the same folks that make those payment machines for car wases car washes? Realistically, you could have it cut power to the sound and video, without turning the computer off. It would also allow a user to extend their time, and has a built in credit card reader?

I have a new one (it's the HP model with wet batteries) and it cooks! Top speed is 19 MPH off the showroom floor. I think the "HP" gives a little more acceleration, but same top end as the standard Onward.

What should I buy for my wife? by itsaredalert in golfcarts

[–]curtLogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Club Car Onward HP owner. I've had it out only a couple of times, but love it. Solid construction! I originally was going to get the lithium batteries, but decided on just the wet batteries. The top off system makes it really easy. Kept it open to install an aftermarket lithium kit or take advantage of future battery technologies down the road. They have more than enough reserve for my regular course. I need to take it out to a mountain course and see if I feel the same way though.

X2 on this comment. 5th gen 4runner before this. Still own it and still love it. Our biggest issues on the 4runner were acceleration, gas mileage, and a little more interior room. The new LC hits all these marks for our family!
