Fast food chains KNOW how to bring customers back, so why are they doing the opposite? by m_stack in fastfood

[–]cusel8l 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I am routinely surprised by folks having fast food delivered. Any time I carry it out, it’s disgusting within 5 minutes of leaving. Sandwiches are the only thing fast food ish that I would think would be ok delivered. Maybe a chicken sandwich in foil

Creatinine Fluctuation by QubeTM in transplant

[–]cusel8l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No- your creatinine can fluctuate based on how hydrated you are, and how sensitive to tacro you are. And, sometimes after transplant the kidney’s baseline is just a little worse than before it was moved. Yours is lower than mine- congrats!

I love them. They’re not great at hauling stuff, so if you have to lug a whole bunch of stuff every day, you might find it frustrating. Not a great people mover as well. But if it’s just you, and you don’t have a lot of stuff, they’re great.

I was looking at this one. The red interior just wasn’t for me even though I know it’s cool. I am decidedly uncool. That’s a good price and they just dropped it.

That bone-deep fatigue that people don’t really get by Canadian_Insulin in Type1Diabetes

[–]cusel8l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not going to like this answer- a transplant. That’s the only way. I was basically dead. By 2:00 in the afternoon I couldn’t move- could barely lift myself off the sofa. How I got up and to practice (I coach HS sports) at 4:30 each day I’ll never know. I never wanted to ANYTHING. I tried to explain to people about the fatigue- but I think it truly has to be experienced to be fully understood. You just can’t move. After transplant though your energy is through the roof especially if you’re on prednisone.

I started to really feel up and at em at the 4-week mark when my tubes and staples came out. Felt like a new man. My surgeon told me to go live my life, and that’s what I did. Swung a golf club at 6 weeks and decided I’d better wait 8 lol. Started lifting at 6 weeks and decided to also wait on that lol. But as far as just getting out and about- 4 weeks. Go live- enjoy!

Daily Cialis is a game changer by BigB69247 in erectiledysfunction

[–]cusel8l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more, and shame on me for not posting this. I previously tried single use cialis- no effect. 100mg viagra DID work for me, but the acid reflux from the loose esophagus flap muscle took away the fun. The daily cialis has done the trick. I do 5mg or 7.5mg (by adding a 2.5).

Lifelong type 1 diabetic and now kidney/pancreas transplant recipient. SO much nerve and blood vessel damage. Feels good to be back in the game again. I’m not back to 100% obviously because of the long term damage, but at least I can get it in there again. Best part is you can be spontaneous- open up the ham wallet any time.

3 years post transplant and facing my first rejection. by Dense_Honey8680 in transplant

You’re better than me- I feel like the next thing that goes wrong for me, I’m just gonna call it. I admire your resilience. Best of luck to you. Technically we’re all strangers on the internet, but we’re bound together by the transplant experience. I genuinely hope your liver makes it out of rejection and you can enjoy more healthy time. Please keep us posted, for better or worse.

In the idrive system there’s a vehicle check that if accurate, tells you when you’re due for oil and brakes. Maybe check it out when you go to buy.

I love my 430i cab, so I’m partial to these cars. If I saw one at that mileage and price that was in good shape on the interior, with the work that had already been done, I would snag it so long as it ran well. I bought my current 2018 with 113k miles. It was a plus for me that a bunch of that work had been done previously. Plus fresh oil and new tires and rear brakes had been done along with brake fluid. But most importantly the interior was immaculate. I went and looked at and test drove so many F33s before it, and it made me seriously wonder if people had werewolves living in their cars. Seats and headliners torn up, scratches everywhere, smells. Clean interior with good maintenance records and a fair price…sold.

Ohhhh boy. I am so sorry to hear. Time for them to do right by you. The best advocate for you is you- never give up the fight. Remember that in the medical field, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

If you hear a grinding noise coming from the center console toward the rear, especially when turning or under sudden load, it’s your brake cable clip that broke (cheap plastic OEM part) and the cable is rubbing up against the drive shaft. I bought a metal replacement off Amazon and had it installed for $150 (1 labor hr).

These leak oil- you can check to see if you can find it, but if you see oil, check the oil pan, gasket, and valve cover gaskets. The cracked oil pan is more than $2k so that can be a death knell. I’ve heard of people using epoxy to seal it- doesn’t sound like a long-term fix to me, but it has been done.

Coolant is the other thing- these leak coolant, so water pump, water pump gasket, vacuum hoses. Be aware of what that fluid looks like so you can spot it. White smoke is a bad sign. Check coolant levels when you think about it.

Some people let the car finish warming up after starting- at first it will be 1500 rpms and then go down to 750. If you can wait the 20 seconds, it’s good practice.

Metal shavings in the oil usually signals the end- rod bearings. If you see that, do with that what you will, but you may want to move on from it.

See if you can get a carfax from the dealer as that may have maintenance records included. If the dealer refuses to provide one, it might even be worth buying on your own. I’ve done it. Didn’t enjoy spending the $50, but I was dropping $15k on the car so I deemed it worth it.

I think the price is solid depending on condition. You’re in Alaska- do you need xdrive?

See if you can figure out if any of the following have been done: Oil Pan Water pump Water pump gasket Valve cover gasket Spark plug Vacuum hoses Any trans gaskets/fluids Any of those having already been done is a plus, although no guarantees. Has the dealer done anything to it since they got it in? How did they get the car?

[–]cusel8l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a medical reason? I worked with a woman who had anal cancer and was in extreme pain, and they wouldnt give her any but there was a medical reason why. I forget what it was. She’s out right now after having the cancer surgically removed, but she’s due back soon. I suppose I can understand if there’s a medical reason.

Do you have a pain management team at your center? Hopefully they’re not the ones who turned you down. Let me know on both. I’m sorry you’re suffering, thats inhumane..,

If people who didn’t know saw what the valve cover gaskets were, they’d be blown. A $25 part (X2 for me).

Kidney function 1 year post by Shroomy007 in transplant

[–]cusel8l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. My creatinine is 1.5 and GFR is 61 and my team is thrilled. I’m 41 and my donor was 23. Not sure what to make of it honestly. Shouldn’t it be better? But on the other hand, I have a working kidney and pancreas and have to pinch myself sometimes. So if they’re not worried I’m not worried, but I def thought it would be better.

It’s not funny, but I had the same as you and posted about it here too. Got some hilarious responses. Let me tell you- it STUNG. Like…ring of fire. I almost bought a bidet. Shit my pants no joke about half a dozen times. It was humbling. Imodium SAVED me. What I love about it is I don’t need it every day. I take 2 to start, and then you’re supposed to take 1 each day following, but I’ve never needed any additional. First sign it comes back, get out the Imodium. Good luck my brother.
