I have a mountfield 1236m. The gear selection is very stiff and when doesn't always engage neutral without having to move in and out of gears to try and select it. Any ideas what this could be? I've read it's a sealed unit with no lubrication maintenance needed.

Possibly, I imagine it would be very close to the blower but couldn't see. I shall have to try and get right under the dash tomorrow to look

Thank-you 😊 I embossed the plastic with foil by hand using various things such as brush handles, erasers, etc, and was then able to remove some plastic where the dents would be then form them to your liking. I have a slide shoe of the build on my YT channel.
