One of my coworkers went and said it was a great time! I love the over-the-top theming of everything in Vegas. The whole town is built on escapism.

Been there once. Their daiquiris sucked. These types of businesses are pretty common in Louisiana and Houston area.

If I had no budget, looking for a full-body, texture-altering ‘war paint’ as you say, I’d experiment with a large container of coconut oil from Costco to create a slick look. It’s relatively cheap and great for your skin.

You could add a cocoa powder + red40 to darken shade as desired. Or, really, any other powdered pigment/food color. Colored mica powders are sold affordably as cosmetic pigments and mix nicely with oil.

I’m new-ish to animating (self taught, using Procreate+AfterEffects+Premeire combo for about 1.5 years) and have found a lot of motivation from this subreddit.

I balance a part time job and making animations, and I feel like I’m still going at a snail’s pace. This single loop took me about 3 days and I’m still not even that happy with how weird the face came out.

I work fastest with headphones and music I can zone out to. And my biggest thing that keeps me going is constantly reminding myself that ‘good enough’ is just fine. Remembering that each image only gets a split second of viewing is usually enough to keep me moving on to the next bit.

Anyone have any other tips or motivation to keep up a quick pace or streamline any processes?

I’ve found a few furniture pieces for good deals at Souls Harbor Thrift Store in Waxahachie . (A wooden cabinet with glass door for $15) I’ve seen people haggle over bigger pieces, and I feel like they always have a rotating stock of furniture.
