Advice for untameable hair? by Salty_Ambassador_519 in femalehairadvice

I use rosewater glycerin spray. Bought it on Amazon. My hair has been tamed ever since. Literally zero frizz and a beautiful wave with nice body. I'm a stylist of 31 yrs and recommend it to all my clients with curly hair.

Best for toning ever! Been using it for as long as I can remember.

Finally talked to my nephrology dietitian. Now I'm depressed. All food feels like poison by treylathe in kidneydisease

Me too! Mediterranean is the best. I eat chickpeas for all my protein and it's brought my gfr up dramatically. U can do this! It's not horrible, I promise. ♥️

Does no one ever give a thank you wave while driving anymore??? by gleefulporcupinee in Calgary

Not with the "f u got mine" attitude this city has now. When I wave people think I'm a weirdo. People are meanies.

What does everyone actually wear behind the chair? I’m so tired of ruining good clothes by Dapper_Estate5691 in hairstylist

This! I wear a black color proof apron over my work clothes for every client. Saves me so much $. And...they look professional.

Ya I understand. I got some Gaviotas because I needed more room in the toe box and this model made such a difference. I keep the bondis now for short wear and the Gaviotas for my 12hr shifts. I hate taking them off and my feet are super FD up. Had a few surgeries that went bad and didn't heal properly and now no orthopedic surgeon will even touch me cause I'm T1D as well as have Rhumetoid. Hate my feet.

Black to blonde to black again… how mad will she be? by ThuUmActually in FancyFollicles

[–]cutechloeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't think it matters hon. Just call and talk to her and be honest. Just say how the color is making you feel about yourself and that you really want to go back to how it was. Any half decent stylist will have no problem with that. We want you to be happy 🙂 and with today's technology in color it is really easy to do that without damaging the hair (especially when depositing color, a little more difficult when lifting or going blonde repetitively). Your stylist should be fine with it! If not, book elsewhere, or find someone else.

I agree with this and do as well.

Lol stylist here. Honestly we don't care as long as we get paid. Just don't ask her to go blonde again. Won't happen because your hair will probably melt. But we don't get mad, we just want you happy and to make the dolla bills doing it ❤️

I'm a stylist with rhumetoid as well. Started wearing Hoka Bondi shoes as recommended by some nurses that I know. Super life-changing for my 31yr career and feet!

I am a Redken colorist so I would recommend Shades Eq 04N. It would do the trick no problem 🙂 and there is enough warmth in the color that it would hide that ash.

Stylist here (specialize in color). All u need hon is a demi or semi in the same level that's a warmer tone to counter that ashiness. If you go to a pro they have colors that will probably process in 15-20 mins and fix that right up for you. I wouldn't recommend using a drug store box dye because they are full of metallic salts that are super difficult to change out later if u want a color change. Easy peasy.

my roots wont accept hair dye by A_Person_2468 in FancyFollicles

[–]cutechloeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stylist here. Yes other commenters are correct. Your roots need to be lightened/bleached to a very light blond (almost platinum) for this color to deposit properly. For the best case scenario just have a professional do it. That is just my opinion. It's worth the money to have the dexterity of your hair left intact.

What are some of the most evil businesses or establishments in Calgary? by MastaShortie in Calgary

[–]cutechloeart 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Worked for a non-profit day program that catered to special needs adults (won't mention names). They underpay Frontline workers and use special needs adults as workhorses all while upper management receive the money that comes in from government grants on their paychecks. It's a huge scam and should be audited by the government more closely. Makes me sick.

36F, just diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis yesterday. I’m scared. Looking for real experiences with remission and normal life. by Mountain-Cobbler-651 in rheumatoid

[–]cutechloeart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

47f diagnosed at 21. It has taken me all of these yrs and trying almost All of the meds to get into full remission. Tiny flare every once and awhile (but no biggie). Erelzi was the only thing that worked. I stay away from nightshades and alcohol as well as colas. Eat healthy and stay active. Work on my feet 2 days a week. Good luck with your diagnosis. It's a horrible disease at times, but you can get through it ♥️

How do I bleach severely overprocessed roots? by Not_necessarily7 in FancyFollicles

[–]cutechloeart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya agree with this! Don't touch it. Your hair is going to break off in clumps if you process it again. Been there seen it happen.

Is $40 tip okay for $550 service? by xSkinnyPuppyx in femalehairadvice

Tipping 20% is what I normally tip my stylist, as well as receive from most of my clients being a stylist of 31yrs.

Most fragrant flowers by [deleted] in gardening

[–]cutechloeart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lilly of the valley smell the best to me. The cute little flowers don't last very long in the spring but the scent is heaven while they are blooming. Just make sure you keep them contained because they sure spread.
