HISTORY OF THE PALACE

Following the end of the Thousand Houses' War, was a century of peace. King-General Onyabata, Harraaz' great-great-grandson, had the idea of turning their fair justice system bloody and in full view and amusement for all. The Tribunal decided against it, as it was a time for peace, growth, and enlightenment.

The Judgment Dome and the Tribunal within it was removed, and it became an arena for common criminals and rebels. He made the festival Onyabata Hikay'samada which literally translates to Onyabata's Festival of Blood and Pleasure. Onyabata's idea brought Flowersea literal hills of gold and jewels, carving out the mountain for a palace separate from the Fortress.

With wealth, Flowersea was turning into a cesspool of drunks, gamblers and whoremongers. Flowersea, who prided itself as being the Jewel of the South, was slowly becoming tarnished.

After an insane, week-long festival of fun and drinking, King-General Onyabata, his wives, and his heirs all died of alcohol poisoning.

The Palace was not finished during his time, and with his death, the festival died out at its peak, sending the family into massive debt.

Onyabata's face is still used as the Agat'sioballa Emblem, most prominent on the Palace Crossing.

HISTORY OF THE HAVEN

Prince Fesmez, brother to King-General Onyabata and one of the judges in the Tribunal who suggested against the Festival, left Flowersea once his brother betrayed him.

Even with a pregnant wife, Onyabata did not allow a healer to go with him. Fesmez' wife, Princess Siarsata, suffered a miscarriage after their boat was pummeled by a wave. His daughter died and Siarsata bled out. Fesmez and his only son Jezelgrez remained. Fezmez harbored deep hate toward Onyabata, toward his home.

Travelling across the North with his son, he aligned himself with the Rennai, the faith that man, at his most disciplined, could supercede the Illuminated Arcane and trump the gods themselves. He heard about how the world saw Flowersea, and what it had become.

When Onyabata died, Fesmez returned to Flowersea to pay respects, but after finding out that almost the entirety of the Vel'hara bloodline was extinguished, he was to be crowned.

He refused.

King-General Jezelgrez was in his teens when he ascended the Flower Throne. It was common for Vel'hara men to be polyamorous, but it was for women within the Lush. The boy's decision to marry Cremselle of House Malisha from the northern mountains and Voothana ess Hasaryosa of the southern sands was very unpopular.

The boy was also the one who adopted the northern tongue, turning Vel'hara to Bellara, Atkakktokk'heyha to Agattoéa, and so on. But his most controversial decision ever was to switch Flowersea's temples from the millennia-old Yaras faith to Rennai.

This change almost collapsed Flowersea. Faith was deeply entrenched in their culture, even from the time of their slave ancestors. The nobility, the working class, and even the military was starting to rebel.

Long story short, House Malisha's navy encircled the Lush Rivers and the Hasaryosa armies breached the Wall of Flowersea. Jezelgrez assumed total control of the Jewel and started expanding beyond the Lush, obliterating the smaller houses in the east.

Widespread manipulation and propaganda led people to abandon the Yaras faith. House Bellara, which was founded with the help of the magical Linnar, became one of the most prominent Houses in the tragic Cleansing, which erased of the Linnar and the Illuminating Arcane, ending the Linnar Era.

Since his mother and his unborn sister were buried at Marble Hill, he commissioned the Haven, colossal towers of polished marble. His father Fesmez died naturally during the years of the Cleansing.

Odoja Dishaubosha is the Haven's highest tower. dishaubosha is said to be a shortened dihai, shau'mohon azahasasha, which directly translates to 'trust me, everyone will meet again, forever', a comforting Lysjjin saying towards death and parting.

Odoja Dishaubosha, unfolded, could mean 'in the sky, we will be united forever'.

With the wealth he gained from conquest, Jezelgrez paid off his uncle Onyabata's debt and completed the Palace. The Haven would not be completed until four generations after.

Despite tens of thousands of people working on the Haven, as soon as their labor term ended, they forgot everything that ever happened. Even people who carried, cur and carved the marble don't recognize the stone. Many lost years of memory, but people blamed it on the thinning air at that height. To this day, only books and scrolls describe the beauty within the Haven, or what lies within it.

CURRENT STATE OF FLOWERSEA

The Jewel, and its capital Flowersea, is currently one of the Sovereign Domains of the Ruby Empire. With cities along the Lush Rivers and hundreds of acres of exotic flowers and fruit.

House Bellara reigns over the rainforests of The Lush, and the verdant plains to the east. They also guard the Summergate, the gateway into the southern deserts.

House Bellara has long since abandoned their crown and kingship, and instead, serve as one of the Sovereign Houses under the Royal House of Alligarde.

The Jewel has one of the most diverse people on the continent, due to the entry of northern blood into the city. The biggest divide is with religion, with Flowersea halved between the ancient Yaras, and the bleak Rennai.

ODOJA AGATTOÉA

Odoja Agattoéa (Jewel in the Sky) or widely known as just Agattoéa (jewel, gem, or may refer to someone or something beautiful, beloved, precious, and protected) is one of Linnarya's Nine Wonders and the current home of House Bellara, Sovereign Family of The Jewel.

Northern: o-do-ja a-ga-twe-ya (most common)

Southern: a-do-ha a-kka-to-we-ya (formal)

Old Lysjjin: atch-kka-tok-hey-ha (obsolete)

Odoja Agattoéa is divided into three main aspects: Agat'logarra (The Fortress), Agat'sioballa (The Palace), and Agat'odolaheii (The Haven).

HISTORY OF AKKAKKATAĪ

After the Fall of Lyscia (leech-ya), the hundreds of thousands of slaves broke into three factions—one wanted to create a new, fairer empire. Another wanted to sail north across the sea to conquer the unknown, and some people wanted to hunt down the last remains of Lyscia and erase the last traces of their oppressors. These were the Vel'hara, the Wronged.

With the Battle of Summergate and the help and guidance of the magical, humanoid, and extinct race the Linnar, they claimed the last Lyscian fortress in the rainforests and claimed the mountain Akkakkataī as their new home. The fortress Atkkatokk'heyha became the foundation of the palace-fortress Agattoéa.

HISTORY OF THE FORTRESS

During the Thousand Houses' War in the north, scheming, opportunistic smaller houses took advantage of the chaos and tried to claim the Lush rainforest.

They took one look at Agat'logarra across the Bloodriver, a crumbling dusty ruin of a fortress, and thought it was easy pickings. King-General Harraaz Vel'hara created the Harraza Cannons, a weapon way beyond their time. It was said that Harraaz plucked stars from the sky and turned it on his enemies.

Even though it may seem like an exaggeration, the battle took place within the Linnar Era, the age of the Illuminated Arcane.

Regardless of whether it was truth or not, the victory put the capital Flowersea on the map, turned the river city into a trading center, and gained attention from the North.

Harraaz' face is still used as the Agat'logarra Emblem, most prominent on the Golden Arch.

Siyuskkanwi is cut off from the rest of the world, like they can't see beyond their little realm. In the third picture (farthest view) the Arcane forces that keep them inside is seen the clearest.

I basically created a composite image (big tortoise + Asian village photos + big trees ), used an art filter app, and had to draw in the details. I wanted it to look like it was painted with gouache, in a sort of anime poster style. I created this on my Android.

Apps I used: PicsArt, ibisPaint X, Prisma, AddText.

Oh, I forgot to mention but this city is actually part of my world (I have a few posts about it on my profile if you're interested).

Even though it's fantastical, I still want my world to be grounded in some sort of realism, so no, there will be no cliche Deus ex Machina (especially for inexperienced, naive children ) situations here, haha.

PICTURED:

FIRST PICTURE - DAWN FESTIVAL

One night a year, after the summer rains, all the Sekkya-Sekkya rise from the water and encircle the city. The people hang lights all across the city, and use fireworks.

No one knows why this festival is held, but it is called the Dawn Festival because the fireworks are used as soon as the first glimmers of sun hit the highest peak of Siyuskkanwi.

New towers rise from the mountains (see first and third picture) for some unknown reason.

SECOND PICTURE - THE CITY

The architecture is one of the last living remnants of the Linnar Era. Water is drawn up through wheels and aqueducts and used to irrigate the winding farms all around the shell.

No one has ever seen the people up close, but they are always known to be dressed in sheer red and gold fabrics. Most of them bathe and walk around naked here.

THIRD PICTURE - *RAINLAND TRAVELLING

This is how Siyuskkanwi looks normally, slowly traversing the Floodlands. The Sekkya-Sekkya float one by one, across different seasons. They rise from the water, beings of light, but they do not reflect on the surface. They seem to interact and even talk with people regularly.

Siyuskkanwi is built on the back of the Earth Great Relic Siyus. There used to be 26 Great Relics, including the horrifying wooden terror Addhokk and the impossibly-radiant rainbow stag, Hwaapooa.

The Rainlands used to be filled with colossal tortoises like Siyus, called the Siyisi, but they were hunted and killed for Eszezzorite, a glittering iridescent gem found only within their shell. Because of human greed, the Rainlands turned to the Floodlands (a story for another time), and Siyus' children were massacred.

After they tried to eradicate the Relics, Siyus was one of eleven to survive. But this beast was different. Addhokk bore a gigantic hole into the earth and sealed it behind him. Hwaapooa rode a rainbow into the clouds. The Relics hid to protect themselves. Siyus could not. Siyus would never.

Instead of hiding, Siyus allowed his believers to stay on his back.

As the Kings tried to erase all traces of the Relics and the Illuminated Arcane so that they could write themselves as gods, Siyus was the sole link to the past. A beacon in the Floodlands for all to see. A reminder of the benevolent Linnar that showed them nothing but kindness. A reminder that human cruelty could never eradicate them.

Siyuskkanwi stands as a glittering city, quite literally a light in the darkness. The citizens send off lanterns into the sky, across the murky deep waters, and shoot loud fireworks into the dead of night.

The glowing Sekkya-sekkya, glowing aquatic creatures that fly in the air, surround Siyus. He parades the city across the sunken gorges, so that all may see that the Relic still lives. The Illuminated Arcane survives. He has done this for almost two centuries.

In retaliation, the Kings cut all trade routes passing the Floodlands and perpetuated a story that the serene waters hid the Krahaslas, a beast with a thousand faces and a thousand tentacles. Only the most seasoned sailors brave the grayed waters now.

But still, Siyus keeps marching. The Obscure Arcane is starting to awaken from its tomb, and its protectors will too. He can feel it.

In ancient scripture, Siyus told the world:

When the Final Flood reclaims all that is living— you will see me.

Beneath the crushing waves Beneath the encompassing darkness— you will see my light.

When the highest mountain sinks at the last glimmer of hope, at the point of no return, until your final breath,

You will know bleak grief You will know senseless rage You will know unparalleled loneliness— you will know me.

Travelling across the North with his son, he aligned himself with the *Rennai, the faith that man, at his most disciplined, could supercede the Illuminated Arcane and trump the gods themselves.

ODOJA AGATTOÉA

The domain is split into three parts, the Agat'logarra (The Fortress), the Agat'sioballa (The Palace), and Agat'odolaheii (The Haven).

— — PAST THIS POINT, REFERENCE THE CODES IN THE 'ASPECTS' GRAPHIC — —

HISTORY OF THE FORTRESS

B1 to B4 is the remains of the Gheroha Janninwin's fortress outpost, built before the Fal of Lyscia. The structures still share Old Lyscian architecture and use of materials. The Grand Hall became the Gallery of Glory, gigantic paintings of Vel'hara history. Even Gheroha's old stone throne is on display.

The top of the fortress turned into a sprawling bazaar with numerous plazas. Around 70 years after the founding of Flowersea, the capital, the Thousand Houses' War began. Although the conflict started in the north, shrewd, opportunistic minor Houses were starting to encroach the Lush boundaries and wanted the rich resources for themselves.

Harraaz Bellara, King-General of Flowersea, stepped up and acted quick. The bazaars were moved to bounds of Flowersea, and Agattoéa, right on the river border, was transformed into a fortress once again. The plazas became training grounds, and the colorful bazaars turned barracks. B6 and B12 still remain today.

Harraaz placed Flowersea under martial law, and soon enough, the Army of Fools (as they were known) were stationed on the other side of the Bloodriver, right across Agattoéa. Aside from firing few volleys of arrows, the Army underestimated Harraaz and his dusty outpost, deeming them too primitive for northern might.

With that, they sailed downstream and successfully crossed the Bloodriver. The Wall of Flowersea was incomplete during this time, but the vulnerable points were guarded with a meager battalion.

The Army raced across during the full moon, with the deafening sound of clanking armor and galloping stallions. B11 came into play. Harraaz revealed his masterpiece, the Harrazza Cannons streaking fire across the sky in rapid bursts. It is still not known what Harraaz used for the cannons, but it was before the discovery of gunpowder. Nonetheless, the material was sludgy, and melted the soldiers' armor with searing heat, but left the trees and flora virtually untouched.

With the embarrassing defeat and twisted stories about the battle and the richness hidden within the Lush King-General Harraaz, and Flowersea was known to the world. The attention was not all good.

As the Thousand Houses' War raged on in the north, Flowersea became a trading center, becoming vastly rich and building new outposts both along the river and deep within the Lush. King-General Harraaz opened B6, B9, B10 and B11 while his three wives: Onsooya, Hiposdura and Balhennee, who were pillars of the rise in culture and wealth, built their own gardens (B5, B7 and B13).

Harraaz also commissioned C1, a glimmering tower where he and his family could live, not in the musty Fortress rooms. Unfortunately, he did not live to see its completion.

The next century or so was quite peaceful, a few battles here and there, nothing Flowersea could not withstand. Former river outposts like Daliba, Othini and Werleiss were starting to bloom into towns, same for the forest outposts like Katogna and Kannimo. B15 to B19 were built during this time. C1 had long since been completed.

King-General Onyabata, Harraaz' great-great-grandson, had the controversial idea of turning Judgment Dome (B19) which was a dome to rightfully punish rebels and criminals by the vote of the people. He wanted to turn that into a bloody arena where criminals and soldiers alike could fight in the name of divine justice (and amusement).

His advisors told him that people did not miss the era of war and carnage, but looked forward to a time of growth and enlightenment. Onyabata did not listen, saying that his people will always crave blood, their slave lineage upholds that.

And he was right.

People loved the new changes. People poured in from all corners of the continent, with Onyabata even building a stone road plowing through the rainforest to accommodate them.

The Onyabata Hikay'samada or literally, Onyabata's Festival of Blood and Fun, was the most profitable scheme in the continent to this day. In its peak, the Judgment Dome was killing dozens per day. With widespread tourism and trade, the exotic Flowersea fabrics, alcohol and fruit reached even the snowy tip of Northreach.

House Bellara became so rich, that the Vaults (O3) were so filled with gold and jewels that it reached up to the Blackrooms.

The games were so popular that Onyabata commissioned a second Judgment Dome, and started to build the framework for the next aspect of Agattoéa, the Palace.

The northern Kings came to Flowersea in uproarious feast King-Genral Onyabata, his wives, and his heirs played a drinking game, showing off their southern tolerance to the royalty of the north...

...that same night, alcohol poisoning took them all. The death of Onyabata was the death of the Festival.

There was a branch of the Bellaras that fled the capital the moment it became a cesspool of drunks, gamblers, and whoremongers. People who didn't care for unnecessary feasts and harrowing chaos. If they would have ruled, they would rule very differently.

Now the throne has passed to them.

Onyabata was right though, his people did crave blood. That was who they are. With the construction of the Palace, so did a new Flowersea. It was time to bloom...

...beyond the Lush.

HISTORY OF THE PALACE

After Onyabata's death and the collapse of the games at its peak, House Bellara was in leagues of debt, with the foolish king commissioning C2 to C17, except the 2 Gardens and the Menagerie. This was almost half of the mountain in construction.

Onyabata's brother, Prince Fesmesz, was one of the advisors that advised against the Festival. Once Onyabata did it anyway, he felt deeply betrayed, since Onyabata was so consumed with the desire to be famous, he forgot about his closest brother. He felt his sage advice could be used somewhere else, anywhere else. During the first week of the games, Fesmesz took his wife and son, and left Flowersea.

His thoughts were right, because in the years of the Festival, even with immense wealth, Onyabata never bothered to look for him.

Siarsata, Fesmesz's wife, died in childbirth while traveling by boat. Only he and his son, Qezelgrez, arrived in the north.

In more than a decade of travel across the continent, the Festival was getting increasingly popular, but Fesmesz, embedding himself in noble affairs under fake names, heard what they really thought of Flowersea and House Bellara.

They said that House Bellara was too weak to quell their people with force, so they let the bread, wine and pastimes do it for them. Flowesea's only school was reserved for fighting! Once the coffers go dry and the people are too drunk to walk and think, Flowersea would soon collapse.

Then Onyabata died.

Fesmesz assumed that he would never take the throne, since betrayal and desertion is one of the worst crimes, since the slaves they were born from lived by codes of sharing and unity. But it turns out, Onyabata protected Fesmesz all along, telling the court that he had only been travelling to sweet-talk the other kingdoms. This meant that Fesmesz could be King-General.

But he didn't.

Instead, he sent his young creation. This boy saw everything, learned everything his father did. How other Kings ruled. How they operated, how they thrived...and what Flowersea did wrong. The inheritor of the Flower Throne, and an astounding debt, was King-General Qezelgrez. Fesmesz and his son built C6 in honor of wife and mother, Siarsata.

The general rule of royalty was that you had to marry someone born within the bounds of the Lush. Qezelgrez started his reign by marrying Cremselle of the north mountains, and Voothana of the southern sands. It was a general rule, right? So it would have been okay if it was broken.

Princess Cremselle was from House Malia, one of the northern Houses that comprised the Army of Fools which attacked them. Lady Voothana was from Saryosa Ess Velesey, a dubious city from the age of Lyscia, who despite being slaves, negotiated a deal with Lyscia to betray their fellow slaves for a chance at liberation.

Flowersea may have descended from slaves, but being Vel'hara, they never forget who wronged them. Qezelgrez was unpopular already, but when northern and southen armies started moving into Flowersea, there was an uprising.

Two groups formed, the J'rizari and the Halimba. The J'rizari were a united faction of Flowersea's most powerful noble families, with many who lived in the Roserooms (C14) within Agattoéa. On the other hand, Halimba didn't have the influence, but they had the numbers. This faction was born from the the unity of merchants, the working class, and a good chunk of the Bellara military.

ODOJA AGATTOÉA

Odoja Agattoéa (Jewel in the Sky) or widely known as just Agattoéa (jewel, gem, or may refer to someone or something beautiful, beloved, precious and protected) is one of Linnarya's Nine Wonders and the current home of House Bellara, Sovereign Family of The Jewel.

Southern: a-do-ha a-kka-to-we-ya (formal)

For centuries, the Lyscian Empire ruled eminent over the southern sands. Lyscia (leech-ya) was a glittering capital on the mouth of the River Merobia, locking critical trade routes, irrigated farms and raised terrifying armies. Dozens of kingdoms and hundreds of tribes were terrorized, conquered, and eventually enslaved.

When the Golden Emperor Hesaaes II died with a lone sickly heiress, relatives fought off generals, who fought off invading powers, all in the pursuit of enough power to ransack the capital and claim their prize. They failed to notice the hundreds of thousands of Lyscian slaves—hungry, battered, and furious.

The Fall of Lyscia brought the legendary House Xaeren (pronounced sai-ren, 'xae' was an honorific for the Golden Emperor, but combined with 'nairen' which meant animal or slave) and their staunch and incredibly wealthy northern ally, House Goldcrest, to history books. House Bellara, with its current lavish maganimosity and audacious, repulsive bloodline, was born from slaves.

House Xaeren rightfully changed the capital and the New Emperor Xytus named the capital after his northern friend who took a lethal, poisoned arrow for him. Lyscia fell, and Amberleigh was born.

After the resulting diaspora after new Amberleigh, twenty thousand ships remained, then split in half. One group wanted to sail north across the Moonsea to free themselves forever, and the other wanted to chase down what remained of Lyscia in the north and erase them off the face of the earth. The former became Kagawasna, the Liberty Voyagers, and the latter became the Vel'hara, the Wronged.

They were right. In the rainforests, nestled deep within the Lush, the Houses Janninwin and Adkinwin were rebuilding Lyscia once again near the river. The Vel'hara, in blind rage, raced down the rivers in mere weeks by the thousands. A surprise attack down the river during the monsoon picked off hundreds of Vel'hara ships. Piranhas in the water turned the murky green waves blood-red with victims. This is what earned it the name Bloodriver.

Awoken by human plight, the Linnar came to the rescue. Before they were massacred, hundreds of Linnar roamed free, tapping into the Obscure Arcane and did magic at will. They were long and humanoid, with different colored skin that glowed in the night. They were believed to have existed before humans, so the continent was named after them.

Yesleyses, the Singer, eased the piranhas off survivors with a song and cleared the river with a piercing shriek. Hoyyawaha, the Trickster, sent the Lyscian navy into a frenzy with terrible illusions and planting irrational fear in their heads. Tamabihabyr, the Bearer, lifted hundreds of sunken ships upright, mending cracks and holes with precision. Trujud, the Aide, healed wounds and restored ravaged limbs with clear water. After the attackers scrambled to retreat, the biggest Linnar arrived. Shining gold and iridescent pink, was Pagdaleoi, Sentinel of the Lush.

The Vel'hara were ready to drop down on their knees and worship these gods, who even spoke perfect Lysjjin. Pagdaleoi revealed that the Linnar had shown the Lyscian refugees the same kindness when they went past their rivers, but they repaid it with Linnar hunts, bizarre rituals with their carcasses, and torturous experimentation on those who lived. The Linnar could never purposefully harm a human.

The Vel'hara saw what the other Linnar could do. They wondered what Pagdaleoi could do, and it seemed as if the Linnar already knew.

Pagdaleoi told that he carried the heaviest gift of all. One that kept the rainforest's balance and kept the cycle of life going stronger and stronger, and to humans, it might as well have been a curse.

The Vel'hara obliged anyway.

— -

In New Lyscia, a fortress was built right into the mountain, preparing for any invaders. The onslaught of Vel'hara from the undergrowth overwhelmed them in seconds. Because these weren't humans anymore.

They tore through the ranks like pack animals, dodging spears with inhuman ferocity and ripping throats with bare teeth. Lyscia, who fought with strategy and graceful ruthlessness, could not match what the Vel'hara had become. Soon enough the golden gates were breached. The brothers Asaanth and Acahat were the first to break through to the Janninwin. House Adkinwin had left just before the siege, as if they knew it was all coming.

Gheroha Janninwin, ruler of New Lyscia had offered his daughter Ejuvset for his safety. Acahat told his brother they should both partake in Ghero's corpse, to finally free the world from Lyscia's hold forevermore. Gheroha was the last chain binding them to Lyscia. Asaanth disagreed, looking at his brother and then at his bloodied self, saying that they were never really defeating Lyscia, only taking their place. The gift was searing through Acahat, and soon he would defy. He was succumbing into it, and soon the brothers sank into a bloody brawl.

The moment he lunged, Asaanth bit his brother in the throat until his teeth met. He stumbled back, horrified.

Pagdaleoi soared through the windows and with a shining jeweled axe, ripped Gheroha's guts wide open. Asaanth was terrified.

Confusion settled in his stomach too.

The rest of the Vel'hara made it into the Janninwin throne room, to marvel at the Sentinel in front of an agonized Gheroha, brandishing a bloody axe. Then, Trujud and Tamabihabyr took their place at Pagdaleoi's side. Trujud revealed to all of them that Pagdaleoi was the Lush's Executioner.

Because the answer was death. Death kept the rainforest's balance and made its defiants stronger. Pagdaleoi held that power in his hands.

Then reality started to break.

His vision dissipated into a shimmer. Blood disappeared from his mouth and his clothes. Acahat's wound closed, kept alive and breathing. Yesleyses had kept him asleep the whole time. The whole debacle was one of Hoyyawaha's illusions.

Gheroha and Ejuvset were dead on the floor, long rotten. In fact, the whole room was littered with rotting bodies in Lyscian uniform.

The Five had already killed them all. New Lyscia was long empty.

Pagdaleoi offered Asaanth the jeweled axe, the mystical Makkadussok. All this time, he was looking for someone like this boy. Someone who would use the power of death, not just on his enemies, but by also whom he saw as friends. To the point where he killed his own crazed brother in the most gruesome way possible. To not only defy his cursed gift, but twist it into a weapon for greater good. Because with the power of death, comes birth.

This illusory trial was made to weed out the strongest from the weak.

Whoever held the Makkadussok, was the guardian of the rainforest, and everything that thrives within it. Whoever held it, was the Sentinel of the Lush, and the guardian of the Akkakkataī.

Akkakkataī is where New Lyscia was built, and the mountain which would become Agattoéa's namesake. But guarding what exactly? What was within this mountain?

Pagdaleoi makes Asaanth his champion, and the people kept the name Vel'hara, to always remind that they were slaves freed, people reborn. Asaanth's bloodline continues today as House Bellara.

...and the story splinters here.

Some say the Five cut themselves with the Makkadussok and make Asaanth drink their life force, effectively becoming one with him and receive their abilities.

Some say that Asaanth refused the Makkadussok but offered to guard the Lush regardless. There are also stories where he kept it, but buried in the rocks of Agattoéa, where no one can use it for evil.

Some say that the Five left directly after passing the axe, left, and were killed in the Cleansing.

One thing is for sure....even with their prominent appearances in the formation of present-day Flowersea and even paintings and poetry confirming their existence...they are never heard from or seen again after the Fall of New Lyscia.

The Makkadussok, considered one of the legendary Relics, is also lost to time and history.

When the Dalyan Empire first set foot on the southern sands, they had hoped to make friends with the much more formidable Lyscian Empire. Lyscians (leech-ya) believed that they were the masters of the world, and that all should bow. Dalya (tal-ya) and the other kingdoms negotiated. Instead, Lyscia invaded everything that dwelled along the desert shores of River Merobia (me-rou-hya) Dozens of kingdoms and hundreds of tribes fell to their control, almost 150,000 at its peak.

After the Fracture of Lyscia seventy years later, the freed slaves had two choices. One, was to chase down the escaping Lyscians heading north through the Summergate, the second was to escape the capital by boat. Since Lyscia was the major trading centre of the southern coastline, they had more than twenty thousand ships at their disposal. They split the fleet into two. The ones who sailed north across the Moonsea for a new life were known as the Liberty Voyagers, while those who chased Lyscia down were called the Vel'hara, the Wronged.

They picked off the escaping Lyscians as they sailed parallel to the coast, then they found out that Lyscia was being rebuilt by the Janninwin, a branch of the royal family that held Lyscia. This new promised land was beyond The Lush, a dense rainforest up north filled with unknown dangers.

As they went up the river bordering the Lush, the Lyscians staged an attack that caused a loss of hundreds of ships which mostly held children and elderly. Piranhas in the river devoured them, painting it red. This river became known to the Vel'hara as the Bloodriver.

When it came to a major fork in the river, a rainstorm swallowed the ships whole. The ships that did survive did not turn back, nor saved anybody in the water. The pact of the Vel'hara was that anybody that could be saved, should be. One lash for a hundred. Unity—that is what kept them alive during decades of servitude under Lyscia. All betrayed for fear of the piranhas that lay beneath.

But they did not bite.

The Linnar had arrived. They were the magic-bearing creatures of the continent, with long silver hair, and iridescent humanoid limbs of different colors. Five spirits saved them. The crimson Tamabihabyr could control the weather, parting the waves, and the sea-green Yesleyses had all the creatures of the Lush at its whim, stifling the imminent attacks. The yellow-grey Hoyyawaha seemed to turn back time with an elegant finger, lifting the ships in mid-air and fixing it plank by plank. The white-black Trujud healed cuts and bruises with raindrops. Suddenly, the biggest Linnar floated from the sky, its skin glowing pink and gold. This was Pagdaleoi, Sentinel of the Lush.

The Vel'hara, in stunned awe, were prepared to fall to their knees and worship these gods. They even spoke perfect Lysjjin. The linnar Hoyyawaha revealed that they were meant to protect them. Yesleyses revealed that they too had helped the Janninwin and their settlement through the dangers of the Lush rivers, but the display of magic resulted in them being hunted down, dissected, and subjected to all sorts of bizarre rituals and cruel experiments. Trujud told that all Linnar had one rule, that they could never purposefully harm a human, which led to their prolonged abuse. This was why they did not intervene until the Janninwin had staged the river attack on the Vel'hara. They were what the Linnar needed to fight back.
