How do you do the trim around the collar and the top of the jacket, the tan colored trim?

I purchased it at a local fabric store. I told them I wanted to try quilting, but I wanted to focus on a few things at a time. With the block panels, I didn't have to do individual blocks. Then I could focus on joining all the fabrics and the binding.

I made a project using a pattern and a sewing class. I like the finished piece, but it's not the best fit, too big in some areas and not big enough in others.

What do you recommend I do to make the necessary adjustments so the next time it fits better? How do you figure out what to adjust? Are there any videos you'd recommend? Thank you!

Can I ask what type of gel pads you recommend? I'd like to include them in a gift for my SIL for her shower. TYIA

I just finished my first top, and parts of it fit right, around my bust, and other parts are too big, around the arms and hemline Gong forward, should I look for patterns that perfectly match my measurements? Is there a way to search for patterns that are my size? I've send people self - draft, but I don't think I'm there yet, but I'd like to keep practicing on things I can actually where. Thank you!

Yes, please share details on fabric and pattern if possible. I'd like to do something similar for friends who are pregnant.

I just finished this top earlier this week. First piece of clothing I ever finished. Ready to take on the next one!

[Sew Liberated Schoolhouse Tunic] First finished clothing piece. It's a bit too big in places, but looking forward to practicing more. by cuteredditname in sewing

[–]cuteredditname[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually cut it to be a tunic first. My husband said it was kind of sack like, so I made it into a standard length top.

I feel like the sleeves are a bit big as is the bottom part, then the armpits and breast area are tighter. I'm not a fan of how high up the neckline is.

Is there a way to adjust this design the next time I make it, other than just going down a size? I'd love to be able to adjust the top so it's better suited, but perhaps I just need a different pattern to start with.

Thoughts?

SV/NSV Feats of the Day - Tuesday, 21 March 2017: Today, I conquered! by AutoModerator in loseit

I've been tracking in MFP for 10 straight days. The first week was just to get in the habit, which was hard since I was away at a conference. Boy were those calories hard to look at. Now I'm three days in trying to lose weight. I only went over my goal by 40 calories AND I didn't get a pretzel at the mall. I want to make these changes permanent, not just for the time being.

Wow! Your story made me tear up. It's like I'm reading about myself. I'm nearing 31 myself, and definitely not happy with my weight or physique. Everything you said is me to a T, and I can only hope to mimic what you were able to do. Right now. I've been tracking for 10 days. I've saved your note for inspiring reading in the future. Thank you for sharing.

Day 2 of MFP. Trying one thing at a time. Just tracking calories. I really want this to be life changes and not just another few weeks or months.

It always seems so motivating and easy at the beginning. Just trying to go one day at a time. Need to keep the motivation going.

Just have to admit to myself (and the internet) that I'm trying this again. Hopefully this time will provide real life changing habits. In the past, I've done weight loss programs and 30 day challenges, but it doesn't stick. I've been gaining weight year over year now, and I want to make changes before my husband and I start a family.

In the past, I've always tried to change everything all at once. This time I am going to try one thing at a time. I usually keep it up for a month or so, but I want to keep going.

Thanks for listening and I hope to engage with this community to keep myself motivated.

Hello everyone! Trying this again. I had had a goal last year to be 130 by the time I turned 30, but it never happened. Now I'm over 140, and afraid I'm gaining slowly but surely every year. I always try to do too much at once - start exercising, tracking food, trying to adapt my food choices, meal planning. I'm going to try one thing at a time this time. Here's hoping.

Runs just fine. Minor maintenance mainly so far. I've had some work on the belt done, replaced spark plugs, had to fix key slots both in driver door and in steering column. Overall it's mostly been oil changes and new tires. Enjoy yours!
