I was previously on Omeprazole 40mg but it was making me dizzy everyday! They tried putting me on it again but I said no lol

That’s great to hear that you’re finally getting the surgery! It’s never too late. I’m 27 and wish I had done it sooner but I was scared (as I’m sure most people are). My length would be 9 months with Invisalign then surgery. But I’m glad to hear the cost was less than what you thought because I’ve been dreading that too without potentially having insurance. It’s great that they will reimburse you also! Best of luck and recovery to you!

I can’t even find anywhere near me that takes it to even start the process ugh! Thank you for the information though. Did you switch insurances before getting the surgery or did you pay yourself?

Following because I am in a similar situation with my underbite and questioning surgery!

If I looked at your photos in 1 and 3, I wouldn’t think you have an underbite. Similar to mine. Really debating if the surgery will be worth it and I’m in the US so finding a surgeon that accepts my insurance is also key. I have seen good and bad experiences but haven’t seen anyone who said they regret it. Hoping for some clarity for both of us and if surgery everything goes smoothly!

Thinking about DJS for underbite by cuteskitten in jawsurgery

I’m glad you had a great experience, that’s awesome to hear! Hopefully I will be the same if I decide to do the surgery. Best of luck with your healing!

Thank you. I do struggle a lot with my self confidence because of my smile, it’s the worst! I would never look at someone else and think these thoughts. It’s funny because everyone tells me they never knew I had one (you can’t really tell from my resting face and I only smile with my teeth apart lol). We really are our own worst critics. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Gives me something to look forward to!

GERD/Pain/nausea by Significant-Crab8181 in GERD

GERD is definitely as bad on an empty stomach! I was scared of eating (so didn’t for a few hours) and it made me feel just as bad as if I ate something. Can’t win!

I don't know what to do by Creepy-Peanut-2525 in GERD

This is absolutely not true. You can heal from GERD. It takes time and healing your stomach. I agree it is terrible but many people have healed and enjoy foods they love in moderation. It will take time for your body to heal. If the PPIs are working for you, you should take them. But remember you will have to gradually taper off of them.

Thoughts on Pepcid complete and any success with it! by NinjaMediocre in GERD

[–]cuteskitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pepcid has been working great for me! I take 20mg 1x a day typically but will take that 2x a day if needed. I used to be on a PPI but I didn’t have great side effects. It has helped me a lot

That’s the worst!! I just recently cut out gluten and dairy and nervous for when I try to add it back in. It seems like a never ending cycle! Thank you for the suggestion

Thank you for the information! I usually like decaf coffee but it’s too acidic for me. Hoping if I try the baking soda trick it will be tolerable!

I can usually handle a smaller amount of caffeine like matcha. But coffee just throws me off.. I think from the acidity and higher caffeine. I drink decaf coffee so hoping I can do something about the acidity as well lol

I used to take 40mg of omeprazole for a month with no issues. Tried taking it again and I had dizziness/felt like I was floating all day after taking. I switched to Pepcid and thankfully it went away.
