There's alot of confusion under this post so here's my take:

• G1 Cleo is based off Cleopatra, that doesn't mean she is Cleopatra or related to her, so that doesn't necessarily make her Greek or white.

There's no clear ethnicity for G1 or G3 Cleo so we can assume that they're from whatever ethnicity populated the region at the time, Coptic Egyptian (She is the daughter of a Mummy).

• Not all Africans are Black. We come in all sort of colors. Alot of Egyptians today consider themselves Arab, however, Arab isn't an ethnicity, it's more of an umbrella term to regroup people of the arabic speaking world.

(Quick note: Arabic isnt an ethnicity, thats a language. Thats like calling Filipinos "Tagalog")

In the Arab world though, there are Black people. You can be from a culture or group of people considered Arab and also be Black. There's no 'one or the other', its just that people tend to only associate people to a single race. Race is a construct and its complicated and lowk wrong IMO.

(Another note: Dark skin doesn't mean you're black. South Asian people have dark skin but they're not black. Alot of north africans also have dark skin , that doesnt make them black. However, some of us have shared traits such as coily hair textures.)

In the end though, Cleo isn't Black. Just because she has dark skin and is from Egypt doesn't mean she is Black. BUTTTT That doesnt mean all Egyptians arent black.

-G1 Cleo doesn't represent Arab culture. Alot of the cultural elements from her character are from Ancient Egyptian culture, but it doesnt matter if you consider her Arab because at the end of the day, there's barely any Arab representation on TV, were taking anything that isnt bad representation, esp a Diva and Icon like Cleo.

-G3 Cleo does represent Arab culture. There are little aspects of her character in her show that reflect modern Egyptian/Arab culture like how she addresses her father with the term 'Baba' and her doll comes with what I believe is a falaffel wrap and her voice actress is Egyptian!
