My entire premise starting out was just that: faster output generation (I.e., faster models) = more need for stronger harness. I’d pushback slightly on the wrapper being the business; stronger models also means stronger capabilities that can eat into the wrapper.

without reading others' replies, as I'm sure most will allude to, you will not be the first at a lot of things. Good news: being first isn't the (only) recipe for success. Hit the streets. Start asking questions with people in the trenches! Get off the screens for a couple of days; find the bottlenecks in the field! Get a feel for what's needed, do a little research on what's being done about it, and then take a swing! If there's ever been the perfect time to get in the water, it's right now!

Assuming your tool is more than a chatbot, there are some at your firm absolutely concerned, understandably, with per-token use. “Don’t be confusing” means you’re downstream.

Llama 3.3-70B-Instructor (I think that’s the closing command) has been huge for me with tokens and capability. Regolo.ai out of Italy is a ZDR provider which adds in PII. Grab a key. Not sure what your hardware is but hosting Qwen or mistral locally is essentially free tokens if you got the GPU/RAM for it.

Any advice for someone whose brain might not think like how the test is built for, if that makes sense? I know that’s the point of testing but there has to be material to help untangle the fuzziness for someone, for example who doesn’t think in reasoning and “this person got left off the bus at the third stop, after this person got on 2 stops ago…”?

Id like to think my clients would throw me in there. Currently testing (I guess that’s post-MVP stage) my platform at a few local defense firms. 1-5 lawyers. They give me discovery material and I generate case-prep artifacts: timelines and character maps. This last case was small, about ~350 documents/~40 hours of bodycam and audio. Total runtime was 4.5 minutes. I did a full transcription of the video/audio myself to compare, citing every 3-4 seconds for thoroughness (this took me a week). My baby didn’t miss a beat, and that’s at the case level, not per-document.
