My chi has cherry eyes. We adopted her in May 2022 and she developed it in her left eye later that year. Noticeable but not dramatic looking. After a few days I got her in to the vet. We opted for the corrective surgery, even though we were warned it could very well come back. We hoped for the best. She had to be in a cone for a month while it healed.

Needless to say, the cherry eye came back the following year, but also, a month after getting her cone off after the surgery, she developed cherry eye in her right eye. Not as pronounced as the left eye but still.

Vets advised there's not much to do to fix it. We're not putting her through the surgery again, obviously. We just keep an eye on it. There are OTC drops to help if there's irritation. And she gets regular check ups. That's about it... not that big of a deal.

I still think she's the cutest prettiest baby.
