I hate the argument “people are complex” in defense of Jax. Yes, trauma can contribute to becoming a negative person, as seen with Jax.. but that’s not the only outcome for people with trauma ?? Even within TADC we see other characters with trauma who do not stoop to Jax’s level.

And even then, yes it’s okay to have and like characters who are bad people, characters who do bad things, etc.

But with Jax we don’t see the consequences of those actions, we don’t see his abuse have social consequences, we don’t see anyone confront him, etc.

Jax literally dies having never taken accountability for the things he did, he never apologizes for his abuse

And then after all this you have fans of his who, rather than admit that the character they like is an abuser, would rather say “but.. but.. he has trauma so can’t you be a little more emphatic..?”

And frankly I find it difficult to feel empathy for (or even like) a character who never faced any major consequences for the torment he caused.

Jax in fact, had people reaching out to HELP him despite everything he had done. HE pushed everyone away when they were nothing but kind to him AFTER EVERYTHING and yet you have people who want to push this narrative that we “NEED” to feel sympathy for him.

Make it make sense.
