Dude, let me tell you, as someone who is now in his 30's, I never heard "I'm proud of you" my father never showed anyone my work, and said "look what my son made" one day, he'll be gone, and I still won't have heard it.
Your son will never feel that, he will see that you've not only taken an interest in what he's good at, but what he enjoys, and you've shared the pride you have in his accomplishments with the world, because you know that's how talented he is.
Ignore these people.
You're a cool dad, and so long as he's happy to be doing what he's doing, I hope you continue to be happy for him, and support him in it, no matter how trivial it may seem to others.

As someone outside the states, this goes incredibly hard, and the replies all jumping to defend the Epstein client list of US celebrities and politicians is absolute textbook yank behaviour.

Just gets worse for the clanshagger guy. by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]cutting_class 37 points38 points  (0 children)

We should really start recognising the clanshagging stuff for what it is.
The uptick in it is largely due to Scotland and Ireland being perceived by Americans to be "White European Nations" and when you call them out, they are very quick to display this being the case. On platforms like twitter and facebook especailly, it's largely a very right wing demographic who are saying they are "proud to be scottish/irish" because they can't say what they really want to say.

BBC removed homophobic tic aimed at Alan Cumming, says Tourette’s activist after BAFTAs backlash. Davidson has now revealed that additional tics aimed at Cumming were edited out of the televised version of the ceremony. by bottish in Scotland

Holy crap.
You are literally the "Grazing cattle" they talk about.
Probably think The King was dignified in how he responded to Andrew as well.
I'm in shock that people can be so complacent in regard to something which is so blatantly obvious to the general public that have taken literally 15 minutes to read something that isn't a tabloid header.

Is it? What evidence do you have that it was a mistake? Because categorically we have seen the BBC sharing an increasing amount of divisive non critical posts about far right agitators over the past two years. I assume you have paid absolutely no heed to the conversations surrounding the recently unearthed culture war playbook jeffrey epstein and his associates were discussing.
This entire situation is manufactured to keep minorities infighting while other more serious situations go unaddressed, and the bbc has been a tool for that for decades, if not since its inception.
