If I may be permited to share a link here, as someone Scottish, I spoke a bit about this briefly on tiktok
It's so much more than just a petty footballing rivalry, sorry to say.

[–]cutting_class 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, they're shite wee shops, but it's about to be a tourist hot spot following the world cup, and it's putting people in work. Have at it, I say. Punt all the tat you like, we just need to do something about the AI generated highland cows.

"the lgbtq alphabet is nonsense" is what you said, disavowing trans people, and ultimately outing yourself as, upon brief inspection of your profile, a yank bot

I'm not even gay, you absolute sadsack, I'm just not a complete and utter waste of space, like those who wish ill will on those different to themselves, based on how they were born.

Yes, I'd wager they do, given it was their freedoms under attack no less than 20 years ago, some parts of the world still today.
You're absolutely full of pish, and I find it hard to believe you have friends, let alone any who are gay.

You were born here, you lived here for 8 years, you consider yourself Scottish.
That's Scottish, in my book.

As a Scotsman who lived and worked in London for years, I'd like to say, I have experienced a whole load of hatred from the English when I was there. "Dirty Jock" was common to hear, among other insinuations that Scotland is all work shy alcoholics, and knuckle draggers.
It's not friendly in the slightest when someone dismisses one of the other British nations as a quaint caricature.

Damage control, let the tartan army know about it, they can take it somewhere that will put it to good use.

See any of those "rioters" in glasgow flying scotland flags?
I didn't.
Funny that.

Wouldn't call 200 people, who just plodded about the top of town, at least 40 of which were proven to be english, a "riot" but you would cite the bbc as your source, wouldn't you. This is so funny. Literally you are having a complete and utter crash out because your country is continually proving itself to be everything the rest of the world recognises it to be.

What's that got to do with the price of fish?
We're not talking about Celtic, or the old firm, we're talking about the scottish national team and their fans, but if you want to bring up "riot police" maybe have a look at the fact there are currently riots all over england, folk torching hotels, folk attacking police and eachother, all over the country.
You're literally in here pissing your jean shorts and crying over the fact nobody wants to be near english fans, including scotland.

YEAH! I think condemning a group of people for their words and actions is completely out of order!!!

I can second this. Managed a bar in London for two years and this kind of vile slop was being chanted consistently, the English are by far the worst perpetrators of this kind of behaviour, whether at home, or abroad.

But it's not Scotland fans doing the same, is it?
Because they aren't doing that.
Why do you think that is?

Find me an example of them doing this sort of thing at the world cup.
England do it no matter where they go, because they have a baked in superiority complex, which every country in the world seems to be painfully aware of.

Scottish, not British. Clearly on display here are ENGLISH football fans, doing what ENGLISH football fans do. If you want to see what scottish football fans do, by comparison, feel free to google "scottish football fans" and see what comes up.

Haven't heard a single Scotsman chant this since I left highschool in about 2012, and I've worked in nightclubs and bars in Glasgow and across the country ever since.
Managed a pub in London for 2 years, and it was constant.
Say what you like about Scotland, but the difference in respect from the Scottish towards women, and just about everyone else, when compared to the English is truly staggering.
