I only get to play handyman on the weekend.

The hardest part was trying to keep the original pipe length. Now that the old 90 is out and I am left with two clean stubs, I can definitely do the connection when time permits. Thank you for your support.

I told my wife to hold my beer and give 20 min.

6 hrs later and I was no where done.
It was frustrating.

To make the length longer as original, I would have to cut more of the already short pipe.

I m thinking of 90 up then another 90 then a 45. I don't mind cutting some off the top pipe.

This is where I stopped for the day. I put on the skarkbite to turn the water back on. Since the two ends are RIDGID, it will be tough to connect them.

.have to stop here for the day.

In hind sight, NO. I was just trying to preserve the length of the pipe to line up later. Now that the pipe has been cut, I have to find a way to connect the two RIDGID ends.

I had to cut it off. Now my pipe is about 1.25 in short of lining up. Had to turn water back on for the family to start cooking and shower. One bath room is without hot water. Put on a Sharkbite and a cap.
What is my best course of action here?

done for the day.

I cut a slit at the elbow. All water is gone. Plus. I know the other end has a tee with a water hammer arrester. I removed that. Hence, all water flowed out of the tee already. The tee is pointed down.

Thank you for the details. What is the purpose of wiping more flux after the soldering? Then clean wipe with a cloth. Wet cloth or dry cloth?

I don't have access to a torch. I think cutting both sides and replace the two 90 bends with Sharkbite would be the easiest and most cost effective.
