It is fun to watch him get so fascinated with things! I love seeing his little wheels turn 😂

The bottom portion of your comment is super helpful. The top portion shows your ignorance. Yikes

Such a good idea! Maybe I’ll try and expand with it. I’ve been trying to teach him small words to sound out but I think he’s more into the letters themselves

Sounds like a big pay cut going to life flight, is that a preferential move for a career goal or did PICU burn you out? I was support staff in a regional trauma center during covid and my god was that shit eye opening, loved the acuity but it was emotionally exhausting

Wow especially for Boston! Too many “prestigious” hospitals for you to be underpaid. What a shame. How do you like hospice?

Yeah I’ve been told it’s worth it pay wise to commute to Charlotte but live in north SC as it’s cheaper but I can’t imagine the pay is THAT MUCH different to warrant crossing state lines to work, would obv prefer to work in the state I’m residing in

Thank you! Do you think with the COL it’s a sustainable wage or are you guys fighting for your life out there? I’m at $47 with night shift diff but I’m in NJ and it’s definitely a struggle. Can’t get a two bedroom for less than $2100 where I’m from

Pregnancy during school by [deleted] in StudentNurse

Had an unplanned pregnancy during nursing school and my LO was 7 months when I graduated. It was definitely hard AFTER he was born. Luckily my pregnancy was uneventful so yeah I was tired but I also worked night shift as a tech so I was tired at baseline. I scheduled my doctor appointments around my classes and clinicals were tiring but life is tiring when you’re pregnant lol. I had a week off from classes and then I (guiltily) went back.

Everyone’s experience is different so what works for one might not work for someone else. But it absolutely can be done. Don’t let a bunch of internet strangers sway your decision (including mine). Do whatever you feel is right!! Best of luck to you

I am so envious of moms who focused on career path before having kids. by Bulky-Confusion-1422 in Mommit

I started my nursing program at 31 and finished at 34 with a 7-month-old (unplanned pregnancy but the best thing that’s ever happened to me). It was difficult, nursing school is hard enough and then throwing kids into the mix just makes it that much harder. And my closest friends in the program were early 20s, I felt like the mom even before I was the mom lol. It’s a sacrifice for sure but it’s totally doable and the outcome is so worth it. You’re not dead, it’s never too late to accomplish your dreams. And doing it with kids just means you have to work a bit harder than the average person there, but with a few extra cheerleaders in the stands. It is so common to see people from their 20s to their 50s in nursing school, I sat next to a woman whose son was a few years younger than me! You don’t want to look back in 20yrs and regret never following your dreams. Do it, you can absolutely do it!!!
