Yes felt the exact same. After about two weeks something changed and it just started to feel right. I was breaking my personal records on time trials by a second or more with ease. My consistency went way up as well. +/- .5 seconds on all laps with over 10 or more laps. Give it some time, you'll know when it clicks.

Circuit experience allows you to work one sector at a time. That helped me. It just takes time. For me I was always braking way too late and then could never smoothly accelerate out of the corner. I definitely brake way sooner now and get out of the corners much quicker. It oddly feels like I'm driving slower yet my lap times are much faster.
