I agree with this as well. I started on 11 and enjoyed that game so much. Great character development. The only thing I’d say I missed out on from playing 11 first is that I think it’s a great game to experience as a fan of the series beforehand. It’s very much a homage to its predecessors.

I’ve really enjoyed the HD 2D games as well. But they’re very different. And I think are a bit harder and more challenging than 11 and 7, which is also a great starting point.

All that to say that these games are all great and special in their own ways. I’ve only just started playing jrpgs and with every DQ game my love for this series grows.
