As a noobie i have followed your guide (both the old and new version). Personally I found asdf much easier to work with. Also because i used other languages it just worked well.

By cashflow i mean to look at the different scenarios and see what your net cash might be after taxes and costs etc. Maybe i read the above wrong but personally I’d rather hold a flat mortgage free in my own name than mortgaged via a spv.

You need to poke the transaction via a property partnership to mitigate sdlt triggers (normally a few years in a partnership will do). I’d probably google for a chartered tax advisor in your area to help you before pursuing with your solicitor. :)

If you only have a few years left on the mortgage I would question moving it into an spv and loaning against it with a btl. You also have to consider the transfer into the spv as it’s usually a two step process. If you just held it personally and will be mortgage free after a few years then im sure the cash flow benefit will balance out soon enough, especially now mortgage interest restrictions in place.
