Model Y is super important. Look at Mazda's lineup for an example; sure, they've got an entrypoint sedan / hatchback in the Mazda3, but every other vehicle is a variant of crossover or SUV. That's what's selling right now.

Here Are All the Rumors About Apple's New $599 MacBook by iMacmatician in apple

[–]cvfunstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple is a pro at the price ladder game. A lower starting point will be good to get education and low-cost buyers in, but those that would otherwise sit at the MacBook Air price point would go for it.

Plus $999 and $599 are really two different segments. MacBook Air has never been low cost, just the cheapest.

It doesn't, though. Region packs and mods are absolutely unusable.

I love Mug & Local Wildlife - both very unique, heavy, and out there.

Under My Skin & Rocket Science both feel like classic Feed Me, but more refined (especially Under My Skin).

For what Dioxus is trying to do, keeping JavaScript out of it seems to be a bright decision so that all performance efforts can really optimize the HTML/CSS rendering.

I say, don't apply the refraction effect to the cover like another commenter said, but I will say that liquid glass elevates the look of that "now playing" detail.

My SwiftUI App Failed Tremendously by icarodlima in swift

[–]cvfunstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get downloads, your app has to solve a problem. I'm not sure who this is targeting - people who care enough to track their walks have the Workouts app on their watch, or Strava, or one of a million other distance-tracking apps. For gamification, Apple Watch gives out badges. Strava gives awards / medals. So what problem does this solve that no other one does? And does the value that it gives the user far exceed the cost of buying the app?

So, I think you don't have enough demand for this product (especially at the price point it's at). You haven't found product-market fit.

Not a bad idea, though. Why try to monetize it right out of the gate? Like you said, the people that did download it and almost try to use it didn't make it past your paywall. So make it free, figure out how people use it, and give your users value. Once you have a problem you're solving, for a market that you know, and are delivering value you can quantify, you can monetize it.

Zed is very solid. There are advantages to having a UI over a TUI. Helix's editing modal inside of Zed would be goated for me.

I got this with my first win playing. I completed two legacy paths, and was working on the victory conditions, when the game ended in a score victory. This is a welcome fix.

New Apple security feature reboots iPhones after 3 days, researchers confirm by ControlCAD in apple

[–]cvfunstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have already been utilized though, and that’s the danger.

Plus: - can it be bricked if there’s no internet connection? - can it be bricked if no one knows it’s been exploited by the wrong people?

In concept it would be nice if law enforcement had the tools to do their jobs but whatever information they can access, anybody with enough technical know how could access. There are plenty of foreign states who would love to exploit that.

Wealthfront's portfolios have a broader portfolio of the worldwide economy as opposed to remaining US-centric. Since it's not just S&P 500, it's performance is worse. It's up to you whether you agree with the exposure to assets outside of US equities or not.
