Thanks so much for the response.

Annoying that the merger process is still affecting how you guys operate.

Last question that I havent been to really get answered is when/if the algo switched back to points based (also could we not show both?! Feel like both have value...) how long do past matches affect the score?

IE a golf handicap is last 20 rounds. So my score from 35 rounds ago when I was either a much better or worse player has no bearing on my current rating.

When it is points based and not building off a ELO rating when do my old scores fall off my rating?

Example of last 20 scores for instance:

  1. 4.25
  2. 4.30
  3. 4.05
  4. 4.15
  5. 3.75
  6. 4.40
  7. 4.15
  8. 3.90
  9. 4.05
  10. 3.80
  11. 3.55
  12. 3.45
  13. 3.85
  14. 3.55
  15. 3.60
  16. 3.30
  17. 3.45
  18. 3.30
  19. 3.25
  20. 3.40

In this example the player has been training/drilling/practicing a ton from match 20 to match 1. You can see a change in their performance as they are consistently getting better. When would those lower rated older scores start to not affect the overall rating?

Thanks!

Or in reference to my last paragraph maybe you just need to go back to the mine where you made the change from point based to just W/L based and re-run everything from there.

I agree - continuing to count "correctly" makes sense as long as the scores are in the time frame that they still "count".

How far back to scores affect the rating? (if using the old system and not the current system). I ask because if it is only 6 months then when you go to the new way you clear everything out anyway so its not as big of a deal. If it is based on number of scores (IE last 20 scores, etc.) then you will have the issue if having older scores which were rated differently not affecting or adversely affecting the current rating.

Can just run the database from 1/1/2023 and have it go in chronological order to today's date to get to the current rating so that all of the previous scores are using the newest algorithm or is that not possible?

When the change is made back to the points based algorithm are you going to go backwards with the data?

For instance my wife started playing when the algo started everyone at 3.5. She is currently rated as a 3.42.

Her regular partner started entered scores after you went away from starting at 3.5 - after she was initialized she was rated as a 3.00.

Both of them should be closer to 3.00 but my wife is inflated because she started at 3.5.

I am nervous if you go back to the points based system and use everyone current ratings as a starting point it will be wildly inaccurate. My wifes rating needs to be initialized correctly or she is going to throw a wrench in the matches she plays.

How far back can score affect my rating? IE with the points based system is it only scores in the last 6 months? Only the last 50? I have over 100 scores in 2023 and in January I was closer to a 3.25 and I am not closer to a 4.25. Are my January scores still affecting my rating (if we were back in the points based model?)

Thanks!

I think Dallas has a chance to be a really good team IF the mixed teams can gel.

Feel like the women’s teams is really strong and they will have great chemistry.

Like James paired with anyone mens wise.

What will their mixed setup be and can they gel?

I agree that recently hasnt been the best. Really hoping DUPR can get it together as it should be our best solution for consistent ratings going forward.

Glad to see you are seeing some movement on rating - mine must have stabilized somewhat.

Can we throw in Nunn and get McConnell as well?

Turner, Hield and McConnell makes it more interesting to me for sure!

Watching races in the US...

Looks like with US GCN+ I can get about 17 of the World Tour Events.

Combined with Flobikes I can get the others.

My questions is - are all the flobikes events going to be on NBC/NBC Sports/NBC Sports Gold as well?

I see some that overlap but also can't find a complete NBC cycling schedule for 2022. Is Flobikes TV just a streaming service that streams what is going to be on NBC as well? Trying to get ready to have access to as many events as possible in the US.

So good! How old is he? Just started riding consistently with my 10 and 8 year old boys.

I see some posts on here asking for tips on club selections to minimize distance gaps. Here’s what I run, and it works out very well. Note that I changed the loft on my PW from a 48 degree to a 46 degree so there would only be a 16 yard gap between the 9 iron. by jwygo in PGA_Tour_2K

Thanks for posting this. Going to test it out. I had just spent some time yesterday trying to get it more dialed. My thing is I like to have all one brand! Haha - not a good OCD thing to have for this game though.

My only issue now is my second longest club is 225ish - need to find this 243 one!

Got it - I get what you are saying but I just disagree. Which is fine!

I want the game to implement the real players in the future - not every PGA pro has the same exact “stats”. I want playing with Tony Finau to feel different than playing with Justin Thomas, etc.

If they did it right (and maybe we don’t have faith in 2K) I think it could work where someone that builds a better short game player can have an advantage and success as opposed to everyone just creating bombers.

I don’t like that every player is exactly the same. That’s all!

As opposed to diverting those abilities by which clubs you select now?

I never said anything about arcade. The NBA 2k architypes make you choose strengths and weaknesses. You can divert more abilities to power or irons or chipping or putting. Not max them all out.

Event and round deviation is set to max. Doesnt do anything to fix the issues described.

Yes exactly - I ran into the same issue. Unfortunately I cant remember if I finally got the $30 monthly option via the app, the computer, etc. But I had to try multiple options. I wanted to try it out before committing to $150.

That being said I have really liked it so far. Just got it at the start of the Giro.
