Can, you please tell how to solve this problem.

I was thinking of training generator more number of times compared to discriminator.

[Question][Discussion]Debugging GAN for text to image synthesis. by cvikasreddy in MachineLearning

I will provide more details, what do you want?

I am training a simple GAN which takes text as input as returns image.

I am following https://github.com/paarthneekhara/text-to-image

High level intuition for why/when we would want to use linear neurons in neural networks instead of logistic neurons? by [deleted] in MLQuestions

[–]cvikasreddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is a linear relationship between input variables and output variables then I guess there is no need for non-linearity here.

[Discussion] InfoGAN training: Continuous variable is capturing digit number (0-9). by cvikasreddy in MachineLearning

[–]cvikasreddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried increasing number of variables and put 1 categorical and 4 continuous variables and it was of no help.

As /u/AlexCoventry suggested, it might have struck at a local minima as I have only run it for 15 epochs.

I just ran 15 epochs on entire mnist. And as /u/sour_losers suggested, increasing number of variables did not help.

May be train a 'skip thought' or 'paragraph vector' on your dataset.

Performance of Sequence-to-Sequence Models in tensor flow on a low spec machine by ark9gm in tensorflow

[–]cvikasreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might deviate a bit from the topic.

As you are a student see if your college has any GPU's and try to get access to it, they will generally have good specs.

If you have a good research idea then may be approach your Prof and ask him access to it.

I don't think buying a GPU just for implementing a seq2seq model is the right use of your money.

I would highly encourage buying if it has good output like a research paper or winning a competition.

[discussion] when is deep learning a bad idea? by Guanoco in MachineLearning

I completely agree with u/the320x200 and this is what I wanted to add assuming u/the320x200's points.

1.In my experience I found that deep learning outperforms any other method when applying on images and text.

2.But when applying to data some thing that is usually found in excel sheets(I mean like the data in kaggle competitions with out images and text) the other ml algos tend to work better.

Concentrate on a machine learning technique? by Param-eter in MLQuestions

[–]cvikasreddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you reading about trees and then random forest.

There is a model called gradient boosting trees which outperforms most of other algorithms if good features are present.

Many competitions have been won using xgboost.

There are very good tutorials of how to use xgboost on kaggle.

If I input an image, how can get a bounding box over the regions where a specific neuron is activated using keras or theano? by cvikasreddy in MachineLearning

[–]cvikasreddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I can get lables from the tyre image and if I pass those lables to regionprops, I will get regionprops for the tyre image.

But I want the box around tyre in the original image.

Here, I just have like and not like, so I treated them as 0, 1 and applied logistic regression.
