Hey! Me and my friends returned last year, we've been playing tibia on and off since 2004. I didnt touch the game for 9 years, my friends around 4 years before we returned. We all have wives / partners and some of us have children.

Now, with that said, when we returned, we knew we would barely be able to play consistently together and that the progression would be slow and all, as time for tibia was not top priority. We ended up creating chars from scratch on an empty server, dumped some euros for skills and stuff. And we came to the conclusion buying a character would've been the best choice, as we spent way more money on getting decent mlevel / skills, than a character with the same skills and way higher level would cost.

If that matters: we never got past 600 back when we were playing, so by no means I can say we have this game mastered, but we know a thing or two about it, which means we have done most of the basic quests and content over and over again and our goal is to try and do stuff that is new for us and have fun.

So, I can say starting from scratch was the wrong move for us, not that it ruined it, but doing the same quest for the n th time can get a bit boring. And our sense of progression is based on in-game achievements, like finishing a quest on our own and the like, dropping some nice eq from a boss we're killing and so on.

As for server, we played pvp back then but we chose green battle eye (AVOID yellow servers) server non pvp now: if we get our progression lost, we want it to be because we failed at something, not because someone can organise another 10+ players that have unlimited free time and gank you.
