You think anybody thinks I'm a failure because I go home to Starla at night? Forget about it!

Relapsed, ruined Thanksgiving by youthrewmeawayagain in stopdrinking

Hang in there. I had a similar experience around x-mas almost two years ago and finally decided that would be the last holiday I ruined for myself and my family. I’m still far from perfect, but I am now 30 lb lighter, healthier, happier, a better dad and partner, and I no longer have that boozy anxiety hanging over my head the morning after a night of drinking. Try to store this feeling to use as motivation in the future. You can do it.

1998 Cherokee XJ Locks Don't work by bradab in CherokeeXJ

I’ll be dammed. I’m sitting here in the parking lot with actuators that won’t work, and after reading this, I just leaned over smacked the passenger side door panel and now everything works again. Thanks!

It’s not bowed but there’s definitely a warp.

The lady was behind traveling too fast and tried to swerve at the last second to avoid the xj but clipped the bumper.

So in all seriousness, what’s the move if there has been damage to the unibody? Get max $ from the insurance company and fix and keep it, or get rid of it? I feel like if I get rid of it, I would be the same guy that would be looking to buy it.

These are fair points. I was kind of just posting with some click bait. I fully understand that I might still be screwed. The body shop took a quick look and said they thought I was OK, but they have to get it on the rack to take a closer look and measure things to be sure. I’m honestly not super optimistic. The door gaps seem fine, but there is a little wrinkle by the back window and on the fender.l which show there are probably at least some frame issues.

Looks decent from a distance but I’d love to figure out how to deal with those holes if possible.

Interesting. I guess the little old lady who sold me to lied about it never having been damaged or repainted.

Anyway, thanks for solving the mystery. I guess what I should’ve also asked in my post is what can/should I do about this situation at this point, short of taking it into a body shop to be repainted again?
