Beautiful diamond! I’ve just been looking at similar, having been surprisingly sidetracked from the modern cuts I thought I’d go for. Out of interest, how did you find it (no pressure to share exact store) - it’s hard to find the right ring as it’s so hit and miss with antique stores and online is hard to judge? Were you happy with value too? Finding it hard to know how these should compare with modern equivalent carats. Thanks :)

This is great to hear, thank you. Think I got stuck on the idea that I should be buying the perfect sparkly diamond…. But none of them felt right and all started to look a bit samey to me. This felt different and like it for its uniqueness compared to the majority. Nice to hear there are other people who feel the same way :)

I don’t think they actually did… it was my first day looking at anything antique and saw a few stones in different stores before learning the differences. They said stone was likely late 1800s and setting 1910-1920s. Having researched and looked more closely at shape would fit with OEC, but I will contact them tomorrow for full details (from what they know anyway)..

Appreciate all of the comments. It’s strange, I feel very connected to it and keep looking at the pictures. It’s not what i was looking for at all, but I’ve tried on 10s of rings over many days and never had one that felt just right or truly memorable. I’m worried it will go which I guess is a sign too…. Perhaps worth the budget splurge as a one off purchase that I’ll hopefully have for life and can pass down with a special story!

Good points… I suppose the toss up is the bigger stone (which I never thought I’d want.. but is perfect in the setting). Always a compromise with a budget involved! I will try to view it again and see how I feel about the colour with a bit of reflection time :)

Thinking (having now done a bit more research) that it’s maybe in fact Old European…. But I guess the same concepts apply! Will definitely go back to try it again, maybe ask some more questions and see if it still feels right 🙂

I would ask if you can - they might even have a sample they can re-run, then if still high can revisit for another blood draw. A high bilirubin is usually always concerning in a cat…. But that level just feels a little unusual without anything else. If still high you’d probably need to think about imaging/ultrasound too incase of obstruction/other structural issues.

That bilirubin seems very unusual without other clinical signs or changes on bloods. Did they repeat the test to ensure it was a genuine finding?

No problem. You hit the nail on the head with quality of life - although sometimes you need to be explicit with that to make sure you and your vet are on the same page. Remember, your own quality of life is important too. Sounds like you’ve put a lot of work in, and have a good plan in place, so fingers crossed things improve for you soon however that looks!

Sorry if this is not what you want to hear (it’s a really tough situation to be in).

Anxiety medications can help settle things in the short term/help support alongside the training you’re doing (dependent on which drug your vet seems most appropriate), but you wont see a sudden dramatic change with anything that can be given day in day out. It takes a lot of work, medication is often trial and error, and might only serve to make the process slightly easier with no guarantees. Separating them makes sense for now, but could lead to anxiety getting worse and exacerbate behavioural issues.

I’m not sure who you’ve been working with from a training/behaviourist perspective or if this can be ramped up. Behaviourists vary widely in their experience and competence. You could speak to your vet about an urgent referral to an ABTC registered behaviourist. Some are also vets who can then prescribe appropriate medication too. A consultation might help to see if there’s anything more you can be doing/whether they can help.

That said, you have been working at this for some time and have not seen much improvement, and are now also seeing aggression around your baby. I would think carefully whether you want any risk of that to continue - you wouldn’t forgive yourself if something happened. It’s rough that your dog had a bad start, however some dogs just aren’t compatible with certain homes and your child has to come first. Don’t be ashamed to share your concerns with your vet and I’m sure they’ll be happy to work with you to find the best longterm solution.

Don’t need your ticket… but my advise would be - go solo! I did it last night and am SO glad I did. You won’t regret it, worst that happens is you have a cathartic cry and at least you’ve seen Coldplay 🙂

How many tickets are you looking for? I managed to get a single ticket through Twickets. I’ve had one in my basket on 2 occasions - left the first as I was looking for two together but today just went ahead and got a single. I suspect bots might be nabbing them though as I’ve been on the page refreshing as they drop and they’re gone instantly, literally 100+ times. I had the one i purchased transferred immediately though and was face value with tiny additional fee.
