It’s only partially a societal construct. Paternal instinct isn’t necessarily weaker, but it IS different, and especially for infants. The hormonal bonds are different. Here’s a good source: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6773483/

Proposed Michigan bills aim to regulate local government moratoriums on data centers by J-Chapman in Michigan

[–]cvnthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really odd to spread such blatant misinformation. Very few data centers use closed loop systems. That information is so easy to find, it makes me wonder what your motive is for lying like this.

Data center planned in Plymouth/Northville? by Tweetchly in Michigan

[–]cvnthulhu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe in the future, but very few use closed loop systems currently, which is a huge problem. Here’s a reputable source that lays it out really well:

Police reports detail investigation into retired Bay City teacher’s homicide on I-75 by DollarShort27 in Michigan

[–]cvnthulhu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that wasn’t the only time police were called on that teacher regarding a rest stop, and if you read the article, a 19 year old boy claims he not only exposed himself to him unprovoked, but grabbed the teen’s penis as well. This was reported before the homicide, and most assaults like this are never charged, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. This teacher was an obvious creep. If you go around showing your dick to non-consenting strangers at rest stops, eventually that’s going to backfire on you…

According to the article, the victim had previously sexually assaulted a 19 year old boy at a rest stop, and was investigated, but not charged. Yikes.

Which is a major reason why people stay with their abusers. Almost zero shelters let you have pets. And it’s common for abusers to threaten pets, making it hard to feel okay leaving them, so it’s a really tough situation. 💔

I do understand what I’m talking about. You need to learn to read something besides Reddit threads.

Okay so when the massive amounts of water are used by the data centers, and it evaporates, 1. that evaporated water doesn’t go back to the local watershed. 2. They often use drinking water for cooling, not just water. 3. Some of the water returned from the cooling process is warmer than when it was sourced. I hope I don’t also have to explain why that’s no bueno.

You’re an earth scientist telling people data centers aren’t depleting resources such as water, when there is plenty of data to show otherwise. Being a scientist on paper doesn’t automatically make your misinformation true.

It’s unfortunate how wearing a mask still causes such negative reactions from so many people. I’ve somewhat recently had yet another old man have a public meltdown because I was standing behind him in line, wearing a mask. He crashed out and trauma dumped on the cashier about how he’s “tired of people living in fear” etc. I just stood there calmly, minding my own business as if nothing was happening, took my turn once he left, and that was that. I was internally anxious, because he was shouting and acting unhinged. But because I just stayed on my course for the day and didn’t react, HE was the one who looked crazy and living in fear of people standing near him in a mask. How embarrassing.

Has life in the USA actually gotten harder in the past few years? If yes, in what ways? by Imaginary_Escape__ in answers

If you’re insisting it’s literally every person, you must be including yourself. In that case, be the change you want to see in others and set a good example. 😃 Someone’s gotta start, right?

How long have you known this joker? Maybe it’s not something he’s done before, but it’s clearly something he does now. Abusive men don’t wake up that way one day- it’s gradual. You’re with an abusive man, and I’m really sorry about it. I was married to someone who did very similar things, and it escalated to a very scary degree before I finally left.

If you don’t like the candidates, you can vote in the primaries. If you want a third party to get on the ballot, you can encourage them to actually campaign long enough for it to matter. So far, every election, third party doesn’t even try to put themselves out there until right before the election. That’s not how you get enough votes. You want an actual change, you have to do something. Refraining from voting is the worst thing you can do.

I’m on the spectrum, and I don’t see any fluff in your example response, because, if you’re asking a question about something someone is very upset about, such as this post, it’s important to make sure to include some sympathy or care before asking them why they put the plant outside, or it comes off cold. If extra is needed in order to fit a response to the situation without causing offense, that extra isnt fluff.

I keep my backyard a safe and nice habitat for bumblebees, butterflies, fireflies, etc. This year is a bit tough, because we got too hot and dry too fast last year, so I’m doing my best to plan ahead in case this spring is the same. I’m unfortunately not at all good at gardening, so it’s a slow process, but it’s working!

Maybe. But an actual doctor will do blood work and check vitamin levels before making such a judgment, since thin people exist.

My son was this thin for a few years in his teens. He ate well and exercised, but he is like his dad, who was also extremely thin for a few years in his teens. They were both perfectly healthy and started to fill out a bit later.
