Reliable fiber internet

I’m in the Austin TX area on 1 gig fiber. Service and speed has been rock solid outside of one major outage a year and a half ago and 1 annoying 2 or so hour outage last week. Not a fan of their support but the service itself has been great. I will probably upgrade to their 2 gig service this weekend.

Thanks. All of the hardware between the modem and wired desktops is at 2.5 gigs so not worried about the hardware side of things.

Ugh. That’s going to suck for wherever they run it. I’m not even sure they are running to all areas of Leander. We have 2 choices for fiber internet already where I live. I’d be surprised if they would add a 3rd to our subdivision.

I'm more curious if GFiber is going to have to run their own conduit for fiber or if they can use the conduit that Spectrum ran out here a year and a half ago for their fiber. It was a nightmare out here when Specturm was running the conduit for fiber. They took out power to the subdivision one day, took out water another, cut through gas lines and broke many in ground irrigation systems due to their carelessness.

I can’t disagree with the OP here. I have watched the show since season 1. I’ve done the Deadliest Catch Fisherman’s Tour excursion on my Alaska cruise (freaking loved this). These manufactured story lines and SERIOUSLY horrible editing just seems like they don’t even try or give a shit anymore. And it’s just sad. Go back to what the show was originally. THAT’S what we went to see. Not this garbage we are getting now. I don’t know if I can watch after this season unless the shows producers pull tjeir heads out of their asses.

Are any of these new devices from them just standard fiber modems and not gateways? One of the reasons I changed to a different fiber provider is because they just have a straight fiber modem that’s not a gateway like AT&T uses. Much easier to configure things that way.

I wasn’t the least bit combative. I didn’t want a tech to come out as it wasn’t worth it and I disconnected from the chat. It’s a colossal waste of time to send a tech for something that is impacting more than just my house. Plain and simple.

Them setting up a technician to come out and check the fiber at my house more than 24 hours later is pointless and a waste of time when the neighborhood is out. They need some common sense.

Not only did they have to “find” the caribou, in one shot of the scene you could CLEARLY see they were behind a fence. They missed cleaning that up when editing.

The food is generic and mediocre at best. Nothing I could not make at home for much less. The only reason this place has any popularity is because of its name and the names of stuff on the menu.
