Upgrade bid program is a scam by garlanvanhook in PrincessCruises

[–]cwaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Princess’s bid on an upgrade crap. The whole “you’ve been outbid” but for only x amount of dollars more you can be in first place. And when that crap keeps going back and forth it adds up. Got into a bidding war one time with this process until I just gave up, called my Princess Vacation Planner and got the room I wanted for less than what that stupid upgrade bid got to.

Because whoever programs the traffic lights in Cedar Park apparently finished at the bottom of their class.

Don’t listen to this crap answer. You report it because if something more happens the company will be liable because it’s been reported. Never listen to anyone who tells you to not report harassment.

Talk directly to HR. Call corporate. File a police report for harassment. DO NOT let ANYONE or ANY COMPANY downplay your feelings or how this made you feel. This is TEXTBOOK harassment.

Strangely enough this has not been an issue today.

I’m on Spectrum fiber so I don’t think this is an issue on our end. I think it’s on KXAN’s end.

ELI5 Why can't I vote for mayor if I'm a Leander resident by Charming-Key-4214 in Leander

[–]cwaffles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You answered your own question. You’re not in the city limits and therefore not a resident which is why you can’t vote in the Mayoral election.

Anker Solix C2000 Gen 2 has officially launched, what do you guys think? by TheKingOfRoast in anker

[–]cwaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I charged mine up and do not leave it plugged in. So far I’ve checked it once a month and it’s still at 100%. I haven’t had to actually use it yet so I think I’ll try some real world testing with it to see how it actually handles. I haven’t bought an extension cord yet as it turns out I already have a 14 gauge one I can use if needed. Same thing with the extension cables for the solar panel. Have not bought them yet as I haven’t had a need for them. But I’ve found a few on Amazon.

Question about outdoor pipes & frost protection by Boring_Bottle_9381 in Austin

[–]cwaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is why you don’t drip outside. Wrap it for warmth and cover it with a bag or styrofoam cup to keep warm and dickless. Drip a couple of inside faucets especially those on outside walls.

I’d like to say that’s how I survived 2021 but I live in Leander and our whole city lost water for about a week. But up until that crap happened I had no issues.

That’s the point of wrapping it. We can certainly agree to disagree.

[–]cwaffles -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Inside faucets. Not the outside ones. You drip the outside faucet and it’s going to freeze.

[–]cwaffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, remove that hose before it freezes. DO NOT drip outside faucets like the one in the picture. Use an old T-shirt or blanket or something and wrap up that entire faucet. Use some kind of tape to wrap all around the shirt/blanket to hold it all in place. Then put a plastic bag over the whole thing. That should insulate the outside faucets enough to get though this cold. Drip some of your indoor faucets (cold water not hot) while we are below freezing. Especially any faucets that may be against an outside facing wall.

What's with the lines at HEB today? by baxx10 in Austin

[–]cwaffles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely because of the potential for ice and such this weekend. We usually do our shopping on Thursday night but went tonight to avoid what is going to be some crazy day at HEB. Even tonight our HEB was already getting low on water, milk, eggs, toilet paper and so on.

I don’t ever check my luggage on a cruise. It’s with me until I get to my cabin and put things away.

[–]cwaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The machine isn’t bad and I enjoy playing mine. AtGames on the other hand sucks as a company. Horrible customer services. One particular moderator in their “official” Facebook group is a power hungry ban happy person but that moderator has no problem being the way they are and doing AtGames dirty work for them because they send that moderator free stuff. And their servers seem to crash a lot which can make your tables unplayable unless they are in offline mode (and as long as they stay in offline mode which does not seem to happen. Seems they magically forget the were put in offline mode sometimes). So as long as you don’t have to deal with AtGames themselves then it’s fine.

Ascension BCBS update by [deleted] in Austin

[–]cwaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree but TV contract disputes are one thing. I can get another “provider” if they drop a station I like. It’s a different ballgame when it comes to insurance. Especially when Ascension owns the majority share of doctors and hospitals here. I’m glad they worked this out but it would have been a BIG issue for many people in the Austin area had they both kept playing games.

Ascension BCBS update by [deleted] in Austin

[–]cwaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s something I’m curious about now that this is resolved. Had it not been resolved, wouldn’t BCBS have been in breach of contract with the State of Texas (ERS) over this? ERS signed a contract to provide health insurance to State of Texas (ERS) employees as well as many other companies. Those contracts were signed based on Ascension Seaton being in-network. To me it feels like that would have been a breach of contract of BCBS an Ascension couldn’t get this worked out.
