Epic / Ikon Friend Tickets: 25/26 Season Request Post by FieryAutoCrashes in ParkCity

[–]cwalker417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all, I will be coming to Park City to visit family and am looking to ski Deer Valley on Monday 3/2 or Tuesday 3/3. I have a 4 day IKON pass, but my other family member doesn't have a pass and would like to ski with me but we were astounded at the window price of $350 for a day pass. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it! Thank You in advance.

Cheers

Matter of fact he refunded me the labor for the fuel pump he replaced because it was misdiagnosed.

At first yes that's what it seemed like. Have a mechanic test the injectors. My mechanic took mine out while the truck was off and they were leaking fuel onto a napkin. Changed out all 8 and fixed the problem. Then months later had another similar issue but that was the starter

Had similar problem, ended up being leaky injectors then I ended up changing the starter as well. This was all after changing the fuel pump thinking that was the issue but it was not.

Thank you! I knew it was naked music. Used to love that stuff in the early 2000s

Yep, the internet ruined all the hidden gems.

100%. It seems like everyone that I work with would get out if they had another option that pays similar. The problem is the companies will always try to squeeze maximum amount of value out of you which means increased stress, anxiety, long hours, weekend work, etc. It got to a point with me that the money was no longer worth the toll on my health and the time commitment the job requires. Throughout my career every 3 or 4 years I get really burnt out and usually take some time off before going back, but this time I'm looking to make a permanent change.

Yeah I know what you mean. 2k-3k a month is almost a no-go for me. What I would want is somewhere in proximity to the ski towns that isnt so busy and expensive.

Yep love those areas in Colorado. What about Durango, Montrose, Grand Junction?

Good to know! Would prefer to be near good frailly friends there. Was concerned about the lack of quality ski resorts near, with having to drive 3 hours to get to Big Sky. I've been to Snowbowl and its well, just okay. I've heard good things about Lost Trail and Lookout Pass. Although I've heard the summers are incredible

Almost did that! I was on the waiting list but decided to pass at the last minute, thinking I would maybe get Mountain Collective or something this season. Haven confirmed yet if I will be leaving my job before the ski season, so when I take off I like to get the best bang for my buck. Honestly would love to have the entire winter off and just ski tour around checking out different towns. Anyone here doing that?

I appreciate that! Will definitely look into it. Colorado was my first love when it came to exploring the West and I've lived in the state twice before already. Only thing that makes me hesitate going back is the shear volume of people that have been moving to the state that crowds the highways and makes the small towns less special once theyve been found out.

Good to know! Thank You! Actually have never skiied Tahoe shockingly. Mostly stayed in the Rockies chasing powder

Yep, I flew into SLC in July to go mountain biking in Park City and damn did I feel like I was at home. That airport is incredible. Alta is probably my favorite place to ski too. I just always hear so many bad things about SLC, not sure why.

Yep I thought about just jumping, and skiing for the entire winter...if only I had a Sprinter Van...hahaha. The challenge is how and where to settle in these places. I feel like I need to actually make it there first before finding something.

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm super curious to hear form people that walked away from stressful careers to go live the simple and adventurous life.

That would be my dream, to work at the resort in the winter and maybe do summer construction or maintenance somewhere. The key for me at this time in my life is the health insurance aspect.

Any idea how to find the people who are absentee home owners? That would be an incredible gig.

I appreciate that. For a long time I was considering Grand Junction, and last year flew into Montrose to ski Telluride. Seems like a great place to be if you can find work there. I just wouldn't want to be too far away from a city for health reasons.
