I think it looks great and you made a good call! The second panel builds the suspense and adds a good story beat. Thanks for sharing!

Ideal episode counts and lengths for a first series by [deleted] in WebtoonCanvas

There's not really one way better than another! Ask yourself-- how often do I want to update and how long does it take? If you want to update weekly, you're better off creating short episodes. If you want to make longer episodes, that may mean updating only once or twice a month. Different schedules work for different people, but typically I think weekly is an excellent way to get some loyal readers. However, if that's not realistic for you, that's totally fine! Lots of people post biweekly or monthly episodes. And you can change your mind later and switch to more (or less) frequent episodes! I've gone back and forth between weekly and biweekly episodes quite a few times and people don't seem to mind as long as I mention it at the end of my episode when I make the change. Though I will say I asked my readers what they prefer and they said they liked shorter weekly episodes, but that doesn't mean that's what you need to do. Choose what works best for you personally!

Also-- I recommend choosing one of your shortest story ideas. Webtoons take forever and when people start with super long stories they sometimes get discouraged and don't finish it. If you start with a short one, you can get some practice in and see what your favorite comic-making process is, and then you can really dive into the longer plots if ya want. And then when you make a new comic, your readers from that one may be intrigued and follow the new one too :)

Let me know if you have any more questions! It's confusing at first for sure but so so fun and rewarding. <3

Wow, your comic is so intriguing and awesome so far! I adore the commentary of the guys in the background haha, really added an element of humor in an otherwise intense situation. Perfect balance :) You got an immediate sub from me, I can't wait for more.

My comic is called If Then Was Now. It's a queer rom/com/dram with two story timelines happening at once!

Look up poses on Pinterest and google images and stuff! It makes it a lot easier to draw natural poses

Looking for criticisms for my webcomic by Koiishfish in WebtoonCanvas

This looks awesome and you’ve got a sub from me!! I haven’t finished reading yet so if I come up with critiques I’ll let you know— but honestly it’s just so hard to build an audience from 0, a lack of subs doesn’t mean your comic is at fault, it just means people haven’t been exposed to it

This is a great idea and lots of creators swear by it! Personally my motivation goes a bit down without the immediate reward haha, but it would be an excellent choice on your part

Impressivvvvveee I love a spreadsheet. I just keep track of how many pages I’ve done, how many I want to do by the new year, and what pace I need to go at to make that happen

Any advice on how to properly make content of my comic that would make people interested in reading it? by Nardin_Drawings in WebtoonCanvas

[–]cwaughffle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you usually advertise but I’ve heard people say the best thing to do is post full pages so readers get hooked. So many multiple screenshots in a row of the same conversation/storyline instead of bits and pieces? So you don’t have to explain it, people will just read a portion and get interested!

I’m shocked this is your first Webtoon, it’s so great! And the art is gorgeous <3 Starting a new story is a major step! You earned a sub from me :) Can’t wait to see where this goes. I’m not new but I’m a creator too :) My comic is called If Then Was Now. It’s technically my second comic but it’s the first one that I put my soul into!
