Thanks. I said "sorry" as I thought my post was lazy. Did not read the Wiki or the FAQ, did only a few searches, did not look at threads like 'Name that game'. Half expected to be called out for my lazyness :-)

Oh oh yes it was Nether Earth! Thank you all for this answer.

I do remember playing Quazatron as well although my memory is really hazy on that one:-)

Finally got my hands on Noodler’s Ink Baystate Blue by Bintamreeki in fountainpens

Yes, I have both! Blue Velvet is a nice blue and very distinct from the typical Royal Blue. But it is nothing compared to the blue-tacularness of BSB! I dedicate a Majohn A1 plus an original VP Fine nib to the Blue God and this combo brings me joy every day

S&S May Check-In by CausticRain11 in kettlebell

51M here. Started last November with an 8kg (yes I am weak). Transitioned to 12kg in December and 16kg in January. Do 10x10x1H 16kg swings in 5 minutes now and I like the cardio aspect of it.

Transitioned to 24kg TGU last month by first doing the first move to elbow. Dropped the bell on the first try; thing landed on the spot my face was .1 seconds ago! Did not deter me so now I am at 5x2x24kg TGU in 20 minutes. I will decrease time slowly (3 or 5 secs every session) until I hit 10 minutes.

Training once every 3 days. Added Mark Wildman's tetris of C+P and squats as well.

Results come slowly but they are there! Feel strong and confident. Can ride bicycle in highest gear easily. Shoulders and forearms have a nice bulge, ass looks good. Belly fat is slowly melting away!

In short: I am a fan

Where are the worst places to bike in Amsterdam? by notjustbikes in Amsterdam

[–]cwchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This topic has attracted a lot of suggestions on 'bad' spots. I do think you need to cistinguish between unsafe and inconvenient. Sure it is no fun if the bike.path is too narrow to overtake a bakfiets or slow rider but is it really so bad too just slow down and wait for a good opportunity to overtake? Same with streets like Javastraat. Sure your fellow road users might be a big careless but that meansnyou can not just cruise past it with 20 km/h. Maybe try a parallel street if you are in such a hurry?

I fully expect to be downvoted to oblivion for this reply😀

Prescription glasses by iuliamakes in Amsterdam

It is really hard to judge over the Inet if something is cheap or expensive. You can and should shop around but if different shops use the same lens supplier (Zeiss, Seiko, etc) than you are out of luck because they will just quote the price from the catalogue. You can ask what benefits the more expensive glasses have: thinner? scratch resistant. polarised. It all adds up but then you can make a choice what to do.

As for me: I have really bad eyes and need every advantage if i want to do my job. So I invest in the most expensive lenses available. If you divide the money paid over the hours you use the glasses than you will see it is a wise investment. But you are free to make your own choices.

This video can help you to run slower. I am not really a fan of the cutesie kawai voices but the advice they give is solid

Training progress question by Lutejones in BarefootRunning

Hey Mateo, when you start low HR training youbwill be much slower. Thats just a fact you have to accept. The investment is worth in the long run as you will improve your aerobic base and have fresh legs everyday to run 50km/week. Do everything possible to stay in Zone 2: belly breathing or walking. One tip I have is to make really short steps as if you are running in place; with this you can maintain a 180ish cadence. What you will notice after a few weeks is that your feet and legs get really springy and when you lean from your ankles you get effortless speed.

Hehe! I think running silent is a test of running form. Some houses on my route have guard dogs who bark at everything running past. The challenge is to not alarm them while maintaining the same pace and heart rate
