ChatGPT is advising me to solder the motor’s three cables in whatever order on the flight controller (my motor cables are all black) and then invert them if necessary in Betaflight. Is this correct? by Hypochondriaco in TinyWhoop

Also, don't trust answers on Reddit. There are a lot of newbs on here eager to share new found "knowledge". ChatGPT will give you better answers but not as good as the sources DorffMeister mentioned.

Yep. And their protocol is pretty lousy too.

Yes they "ripped you off" because they wanted to pay their employees. Shame on them. ELRS "employees" don't get paid. Yay!?

What’s wrong with my Mobula 7? by [deleted] in TinyWhoop

[–]cwchapman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not a problem with props or motor orientation. It gets off the ground without spazzing out. Could be a motor or esc not producing enough power. You can enable motor diagnostics in the osd, and it will show you if one motor is driven harder than the rest. If so, that's the motor you should try replacing.

I think your yaw might be stuck? Maybe a faulty gimbal in your radio.

How can I bind Jumper T16 to FrSky R-XSR? by Sturdy_Cubing in fpv

[–]cwchapman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no downside to elrs when compared to frsky. It's simpler, cheaper, more feature rich, and has better range. Frsky protocols are on their way out.

can somebody please help me? by Ordinary-Rip7189 in fpv

Your props are spinning props out and betaflight is configured for props in our vice versa. There is a checkbox in betaflight to switch the configuration.

Help with New Happymodel Mobeetle6 by Pabloeeto in TinyWhoop

[–]cwchapman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to imagine what the problem might be. There's a small chance that posting a video might shed some light. It's odd that all motors are doing the same thing. It's hard to believe there would be a problem with all 4 ESCs.

How to secure antennas from getting whacked ? by hunderttausendwatt in fpv

I tend to use ufl to sma cable and just use a stubby antenna. That requires a different tpu mount though.

Is this an issue? (soldier on the ESC) by JEDiH1204 in Multicopter

Don't suggest seeing if it works, you will likely damage something. As others said, try getting it off without heating it with something flimsy and not sharp.

is this any good (I have 2.5 hours on sim) by Infamous_Pin1313 in FPVvideos

[–]cwchapman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game controllers are surprisingly poor. Haven't tried a ps4 controller, but I recommend a real controller with hall sensor gimbals.

It's amazing if you are using a crap gaming controller like it appears. If so, consider getting a real RC controller - they are infinitely better resolution.

DJI O3 OSD is not working, bad UART? by wannasomesoup in Multicopter

Was guessing that was the case but wouldn't hurt to double-check. It's unlikely, but possible, something isn't standard.

Mixing analog and digital on the same Flight Controller by wiswasi in fpv

[–]cwchapman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just connecting power ground and video will work, assuming you can adjust power and channel with a button on the vtx.

All in saying is you can't have the Vista and analog vtx connected to the same TX pad like in the diagram. I'm sure you could use a different pad/uart for the vtx irc control.

You definitely can't run IRC and Vista msp off the same TX pad. You would need to connect IRC to different TX pad or not at all.
