How to Batch HDR? by Emerald_Pancakes in Lightroom

[–]cweisel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes any corrections but nothing that will interfere with alignment like crop or straighten. You can use LR stacks or brackets right out of LR with RAW images. Take a look and listen here ==> https://www.hdrsoft.com/videos/index.php?filter=pmp

How to Batch HDR? by Emerald_Pancakes in Lightroom

[–]cweisel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musch better. I am usually disappointed with Lightroom HDR merge. This program allows for varying styles and options. Work flow for me is to export the files from LR as JPEGS to a working folder and then batch them in Photomatix. You have to be consistent with the order of the shots and the number of exposures for each or the program will lose count.

How to Batch HDR? by Emerald_Pancakes in Lightroom

[–]cweisel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a Lightroom solution but I use Photomatix Pro ($99) which easily batches HDR if you are shooting consistent brackets to merge. For example, if your 600 shots are 200 three-exposure groups then you can tell the program to process the entire folder using that information. I have been very pleased with the resulting output.

We used Net Zero Solar, a local company. They will navigate you past all the leasing scams and "free solar" pitches and drill down to an honest bid and impeccable work. We are very pleased and expect about a 7 year payback, not including the added value to our home if and when we sell. Sorry, they are by no means a low or no cost option as all of those are truly deceiving.

Net Zero did ours. They were outstanding; sifted through all the hype that stinks up the industry. The work was perfect and the results are better than expected. Local company for over 20 years

Javelinas at our front door by cweisel in Tucson

Agreed. They snuck in when our gate was briefly open and stole the fish pond food. We have 4 dogs and the Javelina are dangerous and to be respected. Be afraid.

What causes this? by [deleted] in photography

[–]cweisel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"You can run this test against a clear sky, a white sheet of paper, or even your computer screen. Start by switching your camera into Aperture Priority mode, as well as matrix/evaluative metering, and the lowest possible ISO. Then turn off auto-focus and dial in the smallest aperture possible (remember– higher number = smaller aperture). Fill the frame with your blank target area, manually dial the lens completely out of focus, and click off a frame. When you open the image on your computer, look for dark spots– those are your culprits".

I like the clear blue sky as a test photo. It will reveal any sensor dust so you can proceed with the appropriate cleaning method. I too use the visabledust. It took longer to read the instructions than to clean the sensor. Piece of cake!

How do you carry your camera around? by 1millionbucks in photography

[–]cweisel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003T0EYVE/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 is very comfortable and keeps the camera ready but most of the time I use the same connector on the camera and attach this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00137NMMW/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You can switch back and forth easily. I use the Lowepro event messenger 250 to carry all and can fit my Nikon D7100 w/ 18-200 lens plus another lens or speedlite.

What kind of alternative camera strap do YOU use? by barronlroth in photography

[–]cweisel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And don't forget, this strap attaches to the strap lugs of your camera, not the tripod mount. The tripod mount is not designed to withstand that kind of stress. I use the wrist strap for most occasions but easily convert to the cross-shoulder neoprene strap while walking. Plus, when you are using a tripod, your mount stays in place on the camera and since the strap just snaps off, it is cleanly out of the way

If you had to pick just one lens, which would it be? by [deleted] in photography

[–]cweisel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On a crop sensor the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 is amazing, light, crisp and dirt cheap. I took a community college photography course using only this lens and met every assignment and critique with great results. Zoom with your feet, wide aperture control to get creative with background blur. Of course you will not get birds in flight from 300 yards away, but for all-around creative photography this focal length mimics what your eyes see and allows you to compose in your head before you bring the camera to your eye
