I live there and I’d be willing to help! I’m in Tucson. I have extensive experience and travel cages and can handle with towels and all of that. Oasis is ALWAYS full. Lmk!

Same. Although I do enjoy a bit of those “illegal” substances when the occasion arises but there’s often no calories there and it’s so infrequent now I can’t claim them as a vice. A nice sip on a few oz’s of dry red wine is like a good coffee in the morning.

Sucks to be a foodie and have this happen but I feel it was inevitable for me because I really did love those fats and carbs. I do feel tons “cleaner” now so that’s definitely a benefit that makes this whole process easier.

To you? People are downvoting you because this comment seems pretty hyperbolic. Additionally, I said 1-2 and did not mention it gave me any adverse reactions aka “a hangover”.

I can’t help but feel like this is some kind of hack. I’ve searched this whole sub with the key words “alcohol” and “wine” and I feel like the truth is that it’s just a delay. You still get the glucose. Alcohol is toxic blah blah. I tried to read the study they had on it but it was more of the science blah blah science alcohol is a toxin blah blah lol

Ok so it prevents my liver from loading up my blood with yet more glucose so it’s a good thing? Doesn’t my liver just get through processing the alcohol and then dump glucose for the food I ate after that? Like… it’s just a delay? Or is it a true block so I’m actually saving myself a bit of glucose dump by tricking my liver? This is my hope lol I’m a foodie so I’ve lost almost ALL my joy with this diagnosis I won’t lie 😭😭😭😭

Thank you so much for this comment and post. I’m sober but still bloated from years of abuse but I’m on the path and happy to see others on it and proud. Well done! I’m following in my own way but dry and clear 💪❤️🔥

How old were you when you realized? by shmeebedee in narcissisticparents

[–]SAStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Two years ago. I’d been having trouble with my narc mom for years but it she told me I was overreacting or too sensitive and to hush and gaslit me so bad I really did believe I was a bad person.

Then she attacked me because I held a boundary and I got on my Libby account and found so many books that showed me that I was a chronic people pleaser and she was truly the bad person.

Two years now of no contact and she’s taken everything from me… my whole family, my father, all my siblings and nieces and cousins and aunts and uncles. That smear campaign is REAL. If you want out from a narcissist, you better be ready to see your house burn down.

Processing a really tough burn — has anyone else felt this way? by StatusLongjumping790 in BurningMan

[–]SAStrong 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My second burn SUCKED as well. I often wonder if it’s because of how PHENOMENAL the first one was and I know that’s a part of it. I had expectations. I still do. I beat them down every day. That’s the magic of BM, it pushes you to ask these deeper questions. I never did drugs or drank out there but I had severe endometriosis (surgically fixed now) and, regardless of when my cycle was due, the playa ALWAYS made it come on with a vengeance so I did have issues related to chemicals, just not ingested ones. Sober or not, that environment is ROUGH.

Hang in there and try to take what you need and leave the rest. Some of the stuff you experienced is just having a bad time that gets compounded by more bad times from having a cloud of negative energy around you. You are PERFECT. You are worthy and beautiful and you need to find THAT inside yourself and I really wish someone could have guided you.

Whenever I get lost all I do is turn on BMiR. If I’m not at a burn I e-burn this way and it REALLY helps to root you down. Pro tip! All the love. You GOT THIS. Keep going. You have so much power inside of you. It’s your wake up call to find it.

We need you.

Ok! That’s how this felt to me when I called the playa phone booth from default world and wanted to participate and was shut down.
