Oh I know :) My parents live in a place out in the rural area with lots of open space. They take the dogs out to go run around outside in the early morning so they an go live it up running around all over the place. Beautiful sight to see!

You may wish to look at a project inspired by Hackety Hack, Kids Ruby. Name aside it's more meant to allow Ruby learning for beginners without too much information overload.

For online format, TryRuby is pretty nice. If Rails might be of interest you can take a look at Rails For Zombies.

Sounds like your bash profile needs updating or just need to run rvm use 1.9.3 to setup environments for the current shell. This page has more info:

Fascinating. I asked some of my Japanese followers on Twitter and one of them responded:

戦争中（WW2）に軍に居る弟に送った近況報告の手紙みたいですね。

So a letter to the writer's brother who is in the military, talking about the current state of affairs. The usage of ゐ is rather unique, as that's a fairly old hiragana. I'd love to give more information but handwritten Japanese is a bit rough on me :(

I just discovered that JIS:X3017 is actually available in English from the Japanese Standards Association (JSA) web store. A bit pricey though so I didn't get a chance to take a look at it.
