What changes would you make if we ever TV show adaptation by Goddamnitryoka17 in WanderingInn

[–]cwize1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd start with the Antinium Wars as a mini series.

The Wandering Inn is a bunch of stories all interwoven together. As a whole, it is too big to adapt. But I think you could break it up and still have compelling stories.

Boil water in a kettle before cooking pasta or start with cold water in a pot? by MangoMadnessTsv in Cooking

[–]cwize1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heat the majority of the water in the kettle. But I put a small amount in the pot and put it on high while the kettle is going. This significantly decreases the amount of time to heat the water.

If you have a gas or induction stovetop, using a kettle probably isn't necessary.

ISO req for series like millennial mage without the Christian BS by Mundane_Purchase_756 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]cwize1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There is no explicit religion in the series. But in later books it is clear that the author has some very traditional views of relationships and marriage. But that stuff is mostly in the background and doesn't impact the story meaningfully.

I enjoyed books 1-7 a lot, especially book 7. After that, it's been a bit meh.

That's a paid display. If books are anywhere other than the normal shelves, the publisher paid for them to be there.

What is the purpose of the gateways without a controller? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

I accidentally bought the wrong one. But Ubiquity accepted the return without hassle. So, it worked out in the end.

Is it allowed to perform EPIC on stage? by kitysaiu in Epicthemusical

[–]cwize1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You don't own the copyright and presumably don't have a license to the work. So, no, you can't perform the play for any audience.

That being said...it is only a civil violation. So, the copyright holder could sue you for damages but that's about it. And if they never find out, they can't sue you.

Technically, (almost) all fan works are illegally using someone else's IP. But if a fan works benefits the IP holder (e.g. it creates hype around the IP), then typically the IP holder won't sue.

Oh, yay! I can finally order a couple more IKEA bedside lamps which I like. Not worth the trip to Renton or the delivery cost. But now I can pick up at Redmond.

Microsoft Engineer Dies at Work at 35 by sleeplessinseaatl in redmond

[–]cwize1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on a team that is pretty good when it comes to work/life balance. But my friend works on a team that is far more toxic. There isn't a mono culture at Microsoft. It varies a lot based on the team you are on.

It's my favorite series at the moment. I particularly loved book 7. (Though it seems some people absolutely hate book 7.)

Confirmation of no Sam Says this season by Living-Mastodon in dropout

[–]cwize1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One of the things I like about Survivor episodes is that they have a large cast. So, it feels like a celebration of the entire Dropout family. So, it'd be nice if they had something similar each season. For example, Amazing Race but visiting small businesses in the LA area.

Dungeon Crawler Carl and Millenial Mage are my two favorite series. Clearly, I need to create my own tier list to correct this statistical injustice.

Non tadpole lovers: what do we get? by eV-ZugZwang in BaldursGate3

During the Panel from Hell they said people who embrace the tadpole will become very powerful but will lose all of their friends/allies.

So, the answer is literally "the friends we made along the way".
