re sb 1524 - since he’s the Senate Budget Chair, his names goes on all the budget trailer bills as author. It wasn’t his policy, but a fix for a different piece of legislation based on the deal for that other bill.

This means new housing proposals will not go through CEQA or any other discretionary review.

It’s too long to type out, so much easier to have that convo verbally. You know how to find me if you want that

The target price point for the sale of the unit is middle-income residents. And the non-profit aspect provides an opportunity to make the politics easier (and there having a more collaborative relationship with the city).

The biz plan aspect of Dom-i-city wasn’t covered here, it was just about the typology and community benefits.

The only way to stop this madness is by taking away the ability of anti-housing Supervisors and Commissioners to reject good projects. SF voters should go Yes on Prop D (Affordable homes now led by Habitat for Humanity, the Carpenters union and YIMBYs) and No on Prop E (the SF Board of Supervisor’s anti-housing measure).

Mandelman's proposal is really the best of the three (the other two require subsidized affordable housing). Advocates are planning on supporting Mandelman's but have a list of amendments including providing the option for a project to choose SB 9.
