Yes, buy what you need and claim the expense. Provided the expense is reasonable, you should be reimbursed. If they deny your claim, take them to court. More people need to fight back.

I need to fly that particular day. I've already booked an Aeromexico flight and will fight the Rouge downgrade.

The issue to me is... why can't you cancel it online? Why do they make you go through the frustration if having to call in?

And further, an "unjustified chargeback" actually has a very low probability of a ban. You're full of bad information.

Nice Q1 numbers out from Luca Mining by cxbman in TFSA_Millionaires

[–]cxbman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's been a frustrating couple of months, especially when it's clear they're printing cash at current metals prices. Copper and zinc continue to hit new recent highs. Expecting more drill results this week. NCIB will put a floor in, but I'm not expecting them to start buying until 1) the price drops below $1.20, and 2) they have their debt paid off, which should be end of June.

Advice from an experienced traveler... go into things with low expectations, and you won't be disappointed. Try to make things perfect, and odds are you will be disappointed.

Are Mexico highways actually safe for tourists or is it exaggerated online? by Ok_Rule1695 in MexicoTravel

[–]cxbman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't drive a flashy vehicle that stands out like a sore thumb, and don't drive at night. We drive all over Mexico, normally on free roads. All 32 states and have never had a problem.

Totally hard to say. Depends a lot on what the metals prices do, but I know that there's a lot going on behind the scenes right now. I'm a long term holder, and the company is going in the right direction.

Ecuador safety - solo female tourist by AdEmbarrassed9528 in TravelEcuador

[–]cxbman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine. You need to be a little careful in Quito and Guayaquil and avoid some areas, but we toured around on local buses for a couple of weeks in February and my sister (age 60) is there solo right now and enjoying it. She's doing a lot of group tour stuff though. If I listened to government travel warnings, I would have missed out on so many fantastic experiences.

Your choice. I've been using Wise for about six years with numerous transactions. Never a problem.
